Merry Christmas everyone!5

Good evening all - I hope you’ve all had a good Christmas, however you spent the day. I was with my son and my best friend and her husband and daughter, a wonderful day was had by all. Came home at lunchtime today and have basically laid in the sofa all day. Very unlike me! I feel I need a rest after the year we’ve had, and the last few weeks I’ve had, which have exhausted me!!We’re settling in well to the new house, and my son is coming round to it - he really didn’t want to leave our old home!! There is so much potential here, I’m very excited but feeling a little overwhelmed if I’m honest. I need to make a plan and take it slowly...
LL - although you are keeping your online business plans low-key, I am still excited for you! I love it when people have big ideas, and have such enthusiasm for them. I wish you all the best!My champagne moments are spending Christmas with my special people, and seeing my son open his Christmas presents 🥰8 -
Good Mornjng My Lovely Friends
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.Have woken up at the crack of dawn, well it's pre dawn actually. I'm awake before the sun is up. Nice and cosy in bed just sipping my tea and catching up with blogland. Outside there's a hard frost and everything is white over. I think I'm just too excited to sleep.....like a child on Christmas Morning. 😂. I'm raring to go.I have so enjoyed the Christmas break, although of course it's not over yet. Today is a bank holiday. I had planned to spend it by making a start on the decluttering but my son and DIL have other ideas. They decided to invite themselves over. Maybe I make them feel too welcome.......😂😅. Never mind the decluttering can wait. I can play with my grandchildren instead. The beauty of being retired, I get to choose my own timetable. Which is why I want to start my little business rather than looking for a job. I relish my freedom and independence too much to ever want to work for anyone ever again.Mrs S How nice you managed to move into your new home in time for Christmas. I'm sure your son will soon settle in ok. It can be a wrench for children to uproot from everything they have ever known, it's a big thing for them. But how lovely for you .......your dream house, somewhere you can bloom and flourish. Yes it can be a bit overwhelming and a bit daunting at first but you can do it, you will put your stamp on it and turn it into a comfortable home. My advice is to take your time and enjoy the process. Remember you buy a house but you create a home. Cheesy but true.😂. I was a bit overwhelmed here at first......but I really do like it here now. There's still a few bits and pieces need finishing, a few tweaks here and there but I feel it's "mine" now. Miss Havisham has long gone.
(for anyone new to this thread......I moved into this house just over two years ago. It was as if Miss Havisham had lived here, dark, gloomy and depressing, cobwebs everywhere). Two years on and I have transformed it, removing a monstrous hedge to let in daylight, and redecorating throughout. It's amazing what you can do with few gallons of paint. 😂
I am so looking forward to 2021, I doubt any of us will miss 2020. No doubt the first few months will still see further lockdowns and restrictions but hopefully it won't be for too much longer. Spring will be here soon and with it new life and new beginnings.11 -
LL delurking to say I’m glad you are still posting. Love hearing your news and your last paragraph is quite uplifting 😊
I agree about being retired and largely able to please yourself within constraints of little income (they changed the pension age). I do need to kick myself sometimes though to not be lazy and do very little!
Keep posting and I hope 2021 is a good one for all of us 😊😘6 -
LL........... I really DO love you.

I forgot it was a bank holiday. I wanted to call to set up another annual savings account as we just got the interest on the previous year.
I cannot wait for this year to be over! I'm doing new year things already, healthy eating, drinking more water, writing in my journal, reading every day... I went to bed early last night and then woke up about 3 and started reading a new book. I had a couple of hours more sleep afterwards.
I wore one of my favourite green jumpers today and put on the necklace (just costume, but pretty) that suits it. I unfortunately broke it, annoyingly! Oh well, there is plenty of time to go necklace shopping when things get back to normal.
I'm going to make myself a cup of herbal tea and write in my journal. I had some very weird dreams last night and want to write them down before I forget.2025 GOALS
