I've never seen The Chase, but will try - with the patchy internet we have here iplayer is very hit and miss - to find/watch your episode, sugarbaby
Hideously wet/windy here so another day's decorating indoors beckoned me this morning. Need to second coat a few walls/ceilings. DH sensibly planned a non-gardening work day today, starting the demolition work of stud walls at his new customers' cottage.
Champagne moment last evening was DIY dog grooming the first of our two curly pooches, saving a nice chunk of cashWe used to drive across several English counties to go to one that specialises in our particular breed (Spanish Water Dog) - it made a great day out, usually involving a slap up lunch but was blooming expensive, lol!

That is interesting Sugar. I've never actually seen The Chase. I don't watch a lot of British TV.
My champagne moment was just feeling like life is a bit more normal again as I have been getting out and shopping more. I have bought a few "new" things from charity shops. In fact, my wardrobe is more filled with clothes than it has been for years.
I am going to curl up with a pot of tea and a chocolate bar to read my new magazine this afternoon. There is something about this time of year that feels so cosy.

Well, a star in our midst eh Sugarbaby?! Brilliant!
Thank you all for your comments about the house and me being poorly - I was back to work on Tuesday, and been busy catching up ever since! Well, the vendor has agreed to drop the price which I'm relieved about, and is getting an electrical report done - so I have now sent the paperwork off to the solicitor and starting to think about packing up! Still a niggling issue on my house's survey to deal with but hopefully not a deal breaker. The top of the chain is apparently being as elusive as ever, and all they're saying is November for a move date (so I might be in for Christmas....)
LL - I agree with what you say about what goes on in our heads affects our bodies - it's certainly that way with me. My best friend is particularly stubborn and constantly prioritises work over her own health but has had to take it easier lately because her body has just held up a big STOP sign. I think it's only when we stop and actually reflect that we often realise how we have been behaving, and often how we have been neglecting ourselves. I loved the fact that in lockdown, everyone slowed down, there was much less 'busyness' for busyness sake - but many people have let their old habits creep back in. I too am worried about the effect the virus and the resulting restrictions are having on our society; healthwise, economically, and our mental wellbeing, and the world seems to have become a much angrier place about it than we were earlier in the year. I guess that's understandable.
Lockdown made me more determined than ever to pursue my path to financial independence, hence me going for this house. I have doubts whether I'm doing the right thing (especially when I look at my ensuite...) but I know that it's not going to be my forever home, and every time I have visited it's felt 'right' - and so I am going for it.
Phoebe - I hope you are sharing your beautiful home and garden wider than 'just' our little forum? Instagram would love you (if it doesn't already!).
