Mrs S. I don't know if this helps but there is a thread called Techie Stuff. Maybe they can tell you how to adjust your device or failing that, direct you to the appropriate site guides if it is a MSE site issue.3

Lovely photos Phoebe. The Rose is beautiful.DIL had the misfortune to have an emergency Caesar last time, despite her warning them she thought she would struggle. Her mother had ended up with three sections and many of her female relatives all had problems. Maybe narrow pelvises - I don't know the exact reason. Anyway she had a long and fruitless labour and ended up with a section in the end. This time they have said it would be better to have an elective. I hope she doesn't go into labour naturally before that but you never know do you. I will be glad when it's over.My jobbing builder mentioned problems in getting plaster. I managed to get the items I needed for now so like you I have enough diy materials to see me through the next round of jobs. I need to get some compost tomorrow for the new plants.Right time to water the garden, no rain here and I need to nurture the new shrubs and trees, so will give them a nice long drink. Then have a nice healthy prawn salad for tea/dinner. 😂.

My Champagne moment yesterday was finding 5p on my Estate.
A small amount but it has been so long since I found anything.
My Champagne moment today was finding £10 on my Estate when I was walking home with my Lidl shopping.6 -
I don't remember the last time I found money on the street!

Don't think many people are using actual money at the moment with so many shops asking you to use contactless as far as possible but today it was a good job we had some cash on us as we needed to buy a block of butter and their card machine was down so it was cash only!

Cash is King as my old dad used to say......and it's true, I've picked up many a ridiculous bargain because I paid in actual cash. Sometime people are desperate to get hold of cash in a hurry. A caravan for £100 was my best ever, closely followed by a brand new still in the wrappers £1200 bed for £150. Having a mum who lived under the German occupation I have also learned the value of keeping a little stash of "good" jewellery Which I could sell in a dire emergency.
Speaking to the manager of a charity shop yesterday. I was paying by card as most shops have requested And she was really struggling to get the machine to co-operate. She was getting so embarrassed and exasperated. We had a good moan about "technology" and both agreed, yep it's great when it works but when it doesn't it's a pita.I did say what worried me sometimes is that it all seems so precarious, what would happen if the whole thing went belly up, so many people would be lost, no cash, no practical skills because they have become so reliant on machines. She said. You know what I can see there might come a day when we go back to bartering at this rate because the whole system is so fragile.Call me a Luddite but I still keep a dollop of cash on hand just in case, and I still keep paper diaries and address books as back up. In fact I have paper back ups of all important documents, receipts etc.I know........I'm just an old fashioned gal.....😂But one thing I'm pleased about.......Whilst my sons did enjoy a good academic education I insisted they also learn good practical skills. You can outsource an architect and get plans drawn up in India But you still need someone to build, plumb, and wire your house. And when a gale rips slates off your roof or your boiler breaks down you can't outsource the repairs to The Far East. If my eldest son lost his fancy job in an office he could at least work with his hands and put food on the table.A lot of academics have zero practical skills and so many people can't even cook. Yes it's very nice to have a masters degree or even a PhD but that knowledge can become obsolete very quickly, unless they keep up. In the rapidly changing world in which we live it might not be enough. Its aLways good to have back up skills. My advice to anyone is ......always keep some cash, and try to learn some basic practical skills. And, don't put all your faith and trust In gadgets and gizmos.12 -
Yes I think cash is king too but not for long they really want a cashless society so they can keep even more checks on us,I hate when you want to take money from the bank and they want to know why - the cheek.I have always tried not to use my card for anything under £10 and it proved useful when the bank picked up two payments for £5 the fraud squad picked it up and cancelled my card, that was a lot of years ago.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)
Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

LL cash is King for me.
Even in this pandemic, there are so many shoppers like me who prefer to pay cash. Everywhere I choose to shop, has no issue with customers paying in cash. I remember at the start of the pandemic my daughter predicting that I would be forced to pay for purchases with my debit card, but she was wrong, I still pay with cash for all of my purchases in person.
I can only wear solid silver and solid gold jewellery. I see the gold items as an investment as well as a pleasure to wear. About 8 or more years ago, I had a very lean time and I decided to sell some of my solid gold jewllery and was able to raise just over £1,300 at the time. I had owned each of the pieces of gold for years, so I had worn each piece many, many times. I could do the same in the future if it ever became necessary.
