Yes I'm definitely going to look out for NT productions.

Well I'm afraid I feel absolutely dreadful. Only a head cold but even so I do feel rough. Woe is me. :rotfl:

Managed to drag myself round the builders merchants and then Sainsbury's but that's it, I'm done for. The sofa, a hot water bottle and a nice film beckon, see if I can sleep it off.

Electrician coming later but then an easy dinner and an early night with a hot toddy.

I'm full of cold too, n really achey .I had the flu jab on Thurs, so wondering if it might be that :(
Am on the sofa, under the dogs, with a hot water bottle, watching a place in the sun again :D
WEDNESDAY, that soup is my fave .I got a soup maker last year, but find a pan n blender so much easier :rotfl:

Yes, I'm still ill with a heavy cold too! It's the time of year for it. At least I don't have anywhere to go this afternoon. I've already pulled the curtains and have the candles lit as it is bucketing it down here.:D My poor husband just had to go out to work.:p

Candy girl.....me too. How we change. Lol.

I went to the builders merchants. Chose my bathroom. I love it. Will cost More than I had hoped for but it's going to look the dogs wotsits.....:rotfl:

Popped in to Sainsbury's. They've got there 25% off clothing on at the moment. Bought a couple of party type outfits, Will do for the cruise and then for the festive season and all those outings I shall be going on. :rotfl: a jump suit and a long sleeved velvet dress. It's not very often you get nice long sleeve party type dresses.

Hope all the poorly ones get better soon.

Chucking it down here too. Filthy day.

Just back from our £3.50 cinema showing today - Fantastic Beasts, the crimes of Grindelwald ( very good, Harry Potter for grown ups) and our £7 for 2 course lunches

Whilst I was there I booked for the NT showing of The King and I next week. Me and mum, £10 each as I said we were both pension age ( naughty but I feel it this week ) and we will get a two meals for 8.99 deal at the premier inn opposite

Last time I went to the real theatre in London, even on the cheap London theatre nights, it would have been £ 100 or more for the night

No champagne moments today but it's days like these I suppose that allow the more spendy aspects of a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget to be doable. :D

My Dad came over for lunch and later I cooked a big pan of split yellow pea and ham soup in my pressure cooker. I've never really fancied a soup maker though I know lots of folk think they are fab. If I want blended a quick whizz with my hand blender does the job and if I don't want to stir or watch it I cook it in the slow cooker or pressure cooker.

I've also got turkey bones in the slow cooker to make stock to stash away for Christmas gravy.:)

    No

Our local cinema has half price Tuesdays and if you can get there in the afternoon you are elected ( usually bunged from tea time onwards) and this time of year, living in a Tourist area, for restaurants to keep going over the winter they put the deals on

TBH most of these restaurants I wouldn't go near without the deals but for the price of a McDs meal, its nice to sit somewhere nice with amazing views over the Atlantic and get waitress service

I'm another that uses a pressure cooker to make soups. I do however use my blender rather than stick blender as I find it makes the soup smoother. I can't see the point of a soup maker - it's just something else to find room for which would probably end up at the back of a cupboard!

  • I like my soup with chunky veg and meat so I never blend it. I'm off to the shops to get something nice for tonight, GS is coming after school so need to get something he will like. I've also had some vouchers in the door for local pub chain with 40% off main courses so I'm tempted by that. It is our wedding anniversary tomorrow so maybe a meal out would be nice.
