My Champagne moment yesterday was going to watch the film Little at my local Odeon with my Odeon Limitless card. :D

I did find the film funny and entertaining, but it was okay rather than being great. It felt as if I had watched too many similar films in the past. I would give this film 7/10

Went to the opticians yesterday- and I need new glasses...I currently have 3 pairs - distance, reading and sunglasses...This time I have downsized to 2 by having one pair of distance glasses that adapt to sunlight, and one pair of reading glasses....because of my prescription, and my being on benefits I get a fair amount paid by my NHS voucher....(the reading glasses are completely free with the voucher)...I did however decided to splurge a little and get the thinner lenses for my distance glasses ( without this the lenses are REALLY thick - especially for the left eye)...I have to wear glasses constantly, so am prepared to pay a little for the slightly-more-stylish ones!......I started wearing glasses at about age 6...and those of my age will remember the choice for NHS glasses - for children - back then was limited, EVERYONE wore the round milk-bottle type and the choice was pink, blue or brown rims!

The a few decidedly champagne moments...

I emptied my piggy and took the coins to the bank...£21 pounds!

And after buying the glasses I checked my Boots points..£30!

And the till at M&S spat out a £5 off voucher for me!

Every little helps when on a lemonade budget!

Then, checking my Facebook (I have an account but rarely use it!) I saw there was a message - I put my name in for a prize draw...and well, no one EVER really wins do they??!!!....well I did...a copy of a book by a favourite author of mine...it arrived today!

    Good evening everyone,
I made the most of having my younger son home this week and had a "staycation" - definitely feel as though I had a break and didn't burst the budgets:).
Lots of lovely food including lunch out (£12 for two lovely courses- calamari followed by salmon & smoked haddock gratin) at a restaurant overlooking the marina, home cooked deep fried fish & chips made with spankingly fresh haddock and a luxurious steak dinner last night. Enjoyed some lazy days and just generally being out of my routine:).
Back to "old clothes and porridge" now ...

My Champagne moment today was watching the film Wild Rose at the Odeon Haymarket with my Odeon Limitless card.

I really enjoyed this Country music film largely set in Glasglow. I loved the storyline with the themes of ambition, redemption and dreams realised. Jessie Buckley was an acting and singing delight and Juliet Walters is great as her Mother. :D I would give this film 8.5/10

"Champagne moment" for today was making a sourdough loaf for the first time as my son's fiancee gave me some starter. So far so good and it's now proving overnight in the fridge ready to bake tomorrow.:)

    Good morning everyone

Wow.....you are all having lots of great champagne moments.

    Candy...some great eBay bargains there.

Caronc.....I have been busy experimenting in the kitchen too. I love cooking. I have treated myself to the Pinch of Nom cookbook. Some great healthy recipes in there.

Pleased to say that some of my champagne moments this week have been weight loss related......stepping on the scales seeing those numbers come down, seeing my blood sugar levels improve, being able to wear some of my smaller clothes, and being able to donate a bag of larger clothes to the charity shop.

    So gratifying.......;).

I have been on granny duty this week and my best champagne moments have been lots of cuddles and slobbery kisses from my 11 month old grandson. Rolling around on the floor playing, taking him walks, feeding the ducks and just generally being his abject slave. Exhausting :rotfl:

A day off granny duty today so going to chill and recharge my batteries, the sun is shining and it looks like being another lovely day.

    Hello all

been following and reading really, rather than posting but just wanted to say how uplifting it is to read of so many people finding pleasure in 'simple' things.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to my 'neighbours', LL. A few years ago they had the Red Arrows at their summer show. I got a free show - standing in my kitchen!
