I used to work in a rather male orientated profession and some of the freebies I was sent made me snigger (beard balm anyone :rotfl:)

I can think of a use, Knit Witch - if you teamed it up with some of the things Hester was talking about. :rotfl:
Actually, I think I'll shut up before I dig myself a hole I can't climb out of! :D

We don't get freebies in my town and it is not a small one. The last freebie I got was a piece of cake from one of the branches of a local bakery.

About this time of year I got a mince pie and the next day the cake. I caught the assistant coming our of the shop so no one else had touched them. Other than that I don't remember getting any at all.

DH was in engineering and used to get small multi tools given him. Just the right size for my handbag ;) There's a couple of three around our home but they're all used.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Absolutely! Freebies attract people to spend money blindly. Most of them are useless. I am not opposing freebies, but I can't agree on impulse purchase. We should always think before we buy.

TBH I've yet to have a freebie that's induced me to buy! Just put the unwanted charity christmas cards in the recycle bin......such a shame but they wont be used and I dont know of anywhere that would take them :(

Freebies really aren't for me either. Remember those plastic toys you used to get in cereal packages and in a macdonalds happy meal? That's what I think of... not the best for the environments sake, i guess most of it just ends up in landfill :(

another charity shop would have been pleased- one of the small independent ones rather than chain... they would have raised a little bit.
