Good area in London?

I spent five years living in Lewisham. Loved it. Easy commute into London - a lot of transport options. Canary Wharf on the DLR. Multi cultural, buzzy and edgy. It might not have the nice bars etc but you can stroll to Blackheath and, if you want, into Greenwich over the hill past the Observatory.
I felt safe there and had a smashing flat
I went today to Lewisham.
The only coffee shop I was able to find after stepping off DLR was the Sparrow. It was 14:00 on a Saturday and there was zero customers inside. The glasses were as if they were cleaned since last summer.
Then I found Maggie's cafe. It looked interesting but it was... closed. On a Saturday afternoon!
I ended up having a coffee at the hated Starbucks inside the Shopping Centre. If you want to enjoy a nice view and be able to see the sky and receive some sun rays, you wouldn't go inside a cement monster like that Shopping Centre.0 -

Which was why I said walk to Blackheath or Greenwich.0 -
If you like swanky coffee shops, nice views, sunshine and affordable housing maybe you should leave dirty, grey, polluted London behind and move to Italy or Spain.0

Try Catford or Hither Green instead of lewisham.0

Crystal Palace for sure. Lots of cafes, bars, great views, a huge big park, and an easy commute to Canary Wharf.0
