Yes you asked and you were advised. I know there's limited space, there's always limited space. There's nothing anyone can do about the lack of space, just use the extra paper.

It's stressful for everyone during review time, even for those that don't suffer with mental health.

Maybe contact an advice centre in your area for help filling it out?

Just be aware of the time frames and allow for the time it takes to arrive at DWP when you post it.

I'm going through a review. I typed full and detailed answers to every question, printed them off and then on the form said 'see extra sheet page x'.

That's a good way of doing it - have done that for PIP2 in the past as well. Also means that next time you're asked you can edit the previous one (I assume your typing is on a computer not a typewriter!).
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Yes, it is stressful for everyone, this I understand.
For those with MH issues, it's awful, but I already have a very difficult time just getting through to the end of the year anyway and many times have been in crisis.

I may ask for a further extension, I may not. I have left the time limit anyway and was asking general questions about the form.

Yes, there is somewhat limited space, however, this is very small and can lend people to only write no change.

I'm only here asking for help, I apologise if this is not what the forum is for. As I said, my MH issues do cause me to second guess myself.

I think I may do this for this time around. I think all in all it seems a lot easier and can always be edited too.
I may copy out all that's valid from my PIP forms (I have the photocopies).

Totally agree with this approach, Ames.

By far and away the best way to do it. It is then easily edited, so that a consistent picture can be painted.
It is more easily read and assimilated by a decision maker -(legibility is important).
And, per calcotti, can be retained and used subsquently.

    Very sensible.

Also remember that the DWP may be looking at changes from your current award. Not just changes from the previous form. A distinction that is unlikely to relevant to you, since you are on the highest award. But many people identify problems on their PIP, but are not awarded points for those descriptors.
The DWP may take a 'No Change' response as no change against a 0 points award for that descriptor, rather than no change from the difficulties described in the previous PIP form.

Another reason, I think, to make a thorough job of the form - as you intend to do.

    Good luck.

You are right to seek advice. I agree that the forms do imply that if you simply write "There has been no change" that would be enough. However i have seen PIP renewals refused on this basis and the grounds that all the medical evidence was a couple of years old.

If you have a copy of the last PIP2 you submitted use this as a reference. You can then write something like "There has been no change. I still have difficulty ..... and I need help with ......"
You should send any new medical evidence even if it is only confirmation of what was previously known but on a more recent letter.

There is no right or wrong way of doing this but I think the general view is that you can't rely on the DWP to join the dots so it's better to tell them everything again.

If you use additional paper remember to put your name and NI number on them.

Thank you, that's all I was saying, the forms can be interpreted that way.
I don't have very much current medical evidence, so hopefully what I have will be counted.

I do still have my PIP form, thankfully I now photocopy all forms and it really does make a difference when you have to fill them out again. So I'll use this and repeat what's valid from them.

You are right, you cannot think they will have any information at all in front of them other then what I'm sending in this time, so I'll provide as much as if it's a first application, that's what I've done on DLA or ESA ones, it's just the layout of this one seemed different, but then that shouldn't be taken into account.

I think I'll add my medical at ATOS too, I had an awful panic attack on arrival and suffered afterwards and the report mentions this too.
  • I've just sent mine back. I was a little surprised at how the form has changed. I wrote no change then used all the space available to summarise what I wrote on my initial application, squeezing in two lines of text per form line.

The breakdown of where you scored points on your last award is your friend!

I sent a psychiatrists report that the DWP assessor from my last award mentioned favourably, a more recent psychiatrists letter and a print out from the GP with my active conditions and medications.

    I would, but it's a bit much.

Also, if they don't have much on PIP review forms, I've wasted the money and I can't see much on there about the reviews.
