Moving house - boxes and supplies

We moved recently and got a lot of our boxes from Costco. They have loads of boxes for free but it's pot luck what they have. The one I go to (Oldham) you can probably get them even if you have no membership as you can go in at the 'out' bit and say you're going to join up as the customer service desk is there. The boxes are located further down after the cafe

We also got some from our removal company. They had loads of pre-used boxes in excellent condition for about £1 each.:smileyhea0 -
Boxes from bookstores are good for some things since they are strong and tend to be smaller so you can't overpack. When we moved I got some from a friend who works in Waterstones but they were glad to be rid of them, otherwise they end up dumping them anyway. If I were you I'd give it a try and emphasise the green credentials of doing it this way

Good luck with the move.0 -

Beware : I just ordered a pack from a1boxes after seeing their link here... they said on their website that, as a special offer they give you a free jumbo size box worth £11.99 while stocks last, but it didn't come with mine, and after querying they told me it is suddenly 'out of stock'. Yeah right, it's all still up on the website, and I'm sure if my order explicitly included the jumbo boxes they'd have managed to include them somehow! They sent me 1 extra box worth £2.80 to make up for it apparently... Gee, thanks.
I've half a mind to contact Trading Standards about them to be honest. Anyway, just beware, and don't make decisions based on any promised special offers.
