I haven't done anything about the increased DD yet, because my usage will go up over the winter and then I'll end up with a bigger increase in the spring. I'll keep an eye on the smart meter gadget and see how it goes. I don't usually use it, I find it weird that you have to use electricity to run the thing that shows you your usage so you can pinpoint where to cut back :D

Helena Thank you :) I used to keep a very regular eye on readings and could predict if my DD was due to go up or down :D Must admit I check a lot less often now, but every now and then I get an email from Eon to say that it's going to change – the last two have both reduced so I've checked readings and it matches what Eon say. I'm sure though my review used to be sometime after winter, it just seems odd to do this now when most people's usage is about to go up. Especially with all the Christmas lights I use :D:D

Gers Sorry things are so stressy at the moment, I hope they improve soon xx

snoozer I'm glad Laura and Brian are OK. To take part in a study is an amazing thing to do – especially when (I would imagine) it's the last thing you'd want to do. I'm a bit in awe of them actually! xx
But how are you? Are you OK? x

whiteguineapig My Netflix shows are The Haunting Of Hill House, Once Upon A Time, The Good Place, Stranger Things, Designated Survivor and Santa Clarita Diet. I promise I don't sit in front of the telly all day long, I'm only watching two shows at a time :D I'll be binge-watching the first one on my list this weekend :D

Just waiting for 10am. It feels like it will never arrive :D

Morning tru :hello:

You're very welcome,

You could change the review date if you'd like to, it would mean cancelling the Direct Debit and setting it up again and might be more hassle than it's worth, but just wanted to let you know your options.

I would just keep my eye on popping some regular reads on and the Direct Debit manager.

The Christmas lights do sound lovely though, I love putting the tree up, although my 8 year old son does it first, then I re-do it once he's in bed :D:rotfl:

Take care all.

• :hello: Good Morning, everybody - everywhere still dry outdoors this morning but we've got heavy rain and strong winds forecast for later today :(.

silver-oldie - thanks for starting the thread off for today. Well done on still having peppers growing and the soup sounds .
camelot1001 - enjoy your film this evening. I've not seen either of them, but one of my favourite TV progs was 'Flint Street Nativity' - which I've got on DVD ;).
nmlc - so sorry to hear about your relative. Prayers and ((((Hugs)))) for you and your family.
tru - good idea to keep an eye on the Smart Meter - after all, that's what they're for. Hope the DD doesn't need to go up by too much.
Nelski - the new boots sound gorgeous. I'm another with 'clumsy feet' (size 9 EEE fitting - plus still struggling with some degree of leg/foot swelling from op back in June) so have trouble finding footwear to look good. Will have to resort to my hiking boots if necessary this winter ;)!
bellabella - hope you manage to find a solution to your hair problem. Would a shorter style perhaps help to get your hair to look 'fuller'.
Gers - sorry to hear about your DM being taken ill yesterday and that horrendous drive to Glasgow and back. Hope all goes well for her with whatever treatment they come up with. ((((Hugs)))) to you both.
Organza_Lace - take care :).
Wee Midgie - hope the Hearing Aid demonstration proves useful for you. Bluetooth Music option sounds brilliant :j.
Hester - hope your shopping trip goes well and that CHS can learn to get some kind of control of his 'stress levels'. Not good for somebody recovering from a stroke :( - and definitely NOT GOOD for those around them either - (((hugs))) for you dealing with him ;).
ancientofdays - hope your day goes well :)
LaineyT - enjoy your farmshop trip and visiting with Lu.
JackieO - sounds like you've got a great couple of days ahead of you and enjoy your History Group this afternoon :D.
mehefin - well done on the War Poetry Presentation - sounds like it was a great Community Event :T. What a shame about ScoobyMare's hoof/shoe problems - is it always the same one?
-taff - great news about the end of the chemo and picc line :j.
csarina - parking problems at hospitals is getting horrendous, isn't it - but good to hear that the appointment went well :).
MrsSD - hope all goes well for your DSis's trip to France - what a lovely man you've got to escort her like that :T. Enjoy your break and 'me time' for a few days :D.

Hope you're recovering well, Holly. Will probably feel quite 'strange' to be out of hospital after the past couple of weeks.

I've got no plans for the rest of the day - but may just 'potter with Henry' a bit. Friday has fast become my 'lazy day' :j.

Loving ((((HUGS)))) to all who need them - especially if you're not feeling very well at this time - luv Ollie xxx
• NMLC, sorry to hear a family member has passed away. Thinking of you and your family.

Gers, you don't seem to be picking up at all - hope you improve. Also, I'm sorry that your Mum is ill again. Take care
• Morning everyone,

A very late check in for due to a change in morning routine. Today is my last day for current employer and some of us caught up for a coffee early this morning in Tim Hortons. This was only do-able because I've not taken the car as tonight is my leaving do. I don't like the fuss but it is nice to see to everyone in a more relaxed environment. It's been a great 2 years and I've came on leaps and bounds in my career during the time due to being thrown in the deep end I suppose.

Night out tonight means I'll get the last train home at circa 11.30. Tomorrow morning is brunch at 10.30 with my cousins, then nip back to the office and collect my things for the final time before heading home, packing and getting ready for another night out with my friends from home.

Sunday I leave for Manchester around noon to check in to my hotel and get ready for my first week in my new job. It's all go!

Gers - Sorry to hear the news about your DM. You both sound so strong over something which can't have been easy. Whilst I'm in Glasgow for a couple more days, let me know if there's anything I can do.
Nelski - :rotfl: 'kippers for feet' you always make me laugh
Hester - I hope the surgery goes well. Thinking of you through the tough day
Taff - That sounds like good news. Hope you're feeling ok.

Afternoon all.

Such touching messages from folk are lovely, and thanks for the really kind offer Speky. :T All is under control! Hope you have a great evening.

I dragged myself out early for the haircut, there's a large Boots across the road so I went in there next and swept up assorted potions and tablets along with more paper hankies. Next stop was the supermarket for a few things for DM. Now I'm back in bed!

Before yesterday I was recovering well so this is just a short setback. As for DM, it'll (hopefully) be a long game as well as the end game. It'll not be tomorrow or even next month, more a gradual decline which will be unresponsive to intervention. :(

On a brighter note the forecasted dreadful weather hasn't reached Glasgow yet though I think it's bouncing my place. I'm snug and warm, stinking of Olbas Oil and making the most of a lie down.

Sorry to read about nmlcr's relative. Condolences to the family.

Thinking about TA, Poppy, Holly and all the other poorlies -taff too. Hugs to all who want one!

Gers, I hope you feel better soon, and I'm sorry to hear DM has HF,I'm sure she'll be well looked after.
Taff-great you've come to the end of your chemo :T
HH sorry you both had a stressful day
Mehefin, poor Scoobymare & well done on the war poetry night
Speky-enjoy your last couple of days in Glasgow & good luck in your new job next week :)
Nelski- kipper feet indeed :rotfl:.Hope you hear from Holly soon.

I'm going to go and sew a few more squares for my quilt in a while,I've got the house to myself,DS1 has gone to a funeral, his mates younger brother who was found dead a couple of weeks ago,so sad. He suddenly remembered he hadnt got a card so I offered to make one, then thought I might as well do a few while all the stuff was out ,so need to finish putting that away before I sew .

There is beef in red wine for tea,in the sc. to make it easier - DS2 might be a bit late as he has got DGS parents evening after school and then has to pick DGD up.Not sure when DS1 will be back, the funeral isnt in our town.

Hugs to anyone feeling under the weather xx

Hi all, sorry for the latish post.
Yesterday went quite well, but I don't know who we took to the hospital because Dad was Prince Charming to all and sundry. We now have to see the consultant next Wednesday for the results.
Today we, in our infinite wisdom, decided to take apart DD's old bed. Easy Peasy ........ fat chance of that ! It has taken us most of the day to dismantle the gubbins ( it was an electric adjustable bed and weighed a ton ) and do a tip trip . Mr Fix It needed to keep all the electrics too, but they are still bagged up in the bedroom waiting to be suitably re-homed :rotfl:.
The meter reader called round too so we should have our bills ( dual fuel ) in a week or so.
This afternoon DD called in for a coffee on her way to the Drs surgery. We will speak later as to how she got on.
Tea tonight will be chicken portions and chips.
NMLC my sincere condolences to you and the family.
Gers I am really sorry to read of your DM's diagnosis. Please take care of yourself too and I hope you get rid of the cough soon.
-taff :j last of the chemo and the removal of the picc line.
Mehefin  hope you, MrsM and the animals are ok in this weather. I presume your area is on a yellow weather warning too.
Speky enjoy your last day and the after party. Good luck in your new job. I hope you won't abandon us and update us from time to time.
Nelski if you have kipper feet mine must be pilchards still in the tin :rotfl:
OllieB my feet are narrow 4s and shrinking, but I can still fall over them at the drop of a hat :D
MrsSD enjoy your "me" time, jealous moi ? you bet !!
JackieO and MrsSD I agree with you about the electric/ smart meter. I got fed up with my company trying to push a s-meter down my throat. At least they have stopped phoning and just send mail now :(
TA, Holly and Poppy you are in my thoughts.
Hester special hugs for you.

I shall send healing vibes to the poorly and hugs to everyone.
My goodness it's become so dark I'll have to put the light on . We're on a weather warning for this weekend.

Take care all and stay safe.
nan xx

Aarrgghh - we've had this very convo with E-on. Blummin nuisance - we asked them to leave the credit there and leave the direct debit alone, but they'd have none of it.:( Problem is our review date being October. If it was down to me, I'd take the steps Helena mentioned to change it to March, but the damn account's in Mr Wolf's name, and he cba to cancel and re-do the Direct Debit, so I just have to juggle numbers to account for it.

Oh well, at least they can't force a smart meter on us (like we thought was going to be the case at one point). We don't want one, and that's an end of it.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
