  • Morning all

Thanks for the thread SO and hugs to all those in need especially Holly, Gers and nmlc.

My DD is having surgery today and tomorrow is the anniversary of the death of CHS's mum, so it will be a difficult few days.

Yesterday we had the boat moved for a pump out, I thought CHS was going to be ill again, he got greyer and greyer as he tried to tell the boatman with 50 years experience that he was steering the boat wrong.

Today we will go shopping, it's like Nelski's mum's bananagate only with every item!

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Gers thoughts with you and DM. Try to look after yourself too though she is going to need you x
  • Good morning from the damp and grey midlands. I did post yesterday but the site spat me out immediately and my post did not appear.

    Nothing new here.

Gers I'm sorry that your mum is so unwell. Nmlc my sympathies.

Hoping to gear from Holly and thoughts are with all of us who are struggling at present for all kinds of reasons.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Morning everyone,
    Condolences on your loss nmlc.
Sorry to hear about your DM Gers, I hope that they can make her as comfortable as possible for as long as possible.
Not much planned for today, only the bed needs changing chores wise, I do need to get out onto the farmshop for the weekend meat and my car needs filling up, exciting eh :D That said there is always the lovely Lu to lift the day.
Those boots sound fab Nelski, like you I have wide feet and tend to go sensible footwear wise but they sound like something that could really lift an outfit.

Have a good day folks x

Nmlc condolences on your loss, so many folk on here having a tough time with friends and relations illness. Gers Hope your Mum can be made as comfortable as possible ,look after yourself if you can as well.

weather damp but dry at the moment and not too cold Those blessed baby balls are all definitely finished at last and I have returned to making my DGD's wife's blanket which will go out to NYC in February when my DD next visits.

This afternoon its History club which I always enjoy and its part two of Gillingham so it will probably be about the local dockyards.

Tomorrow night I am off to my eldest DDs to dinner as her Ma-in-law Margaret, and her sis-in-law and OH are driving down as well from London for the evening so it should be a good night. My son-in-law has also got the big fight on TV for us to watch as well. I shall make a box of Millies cookies to take with me as I know Margaret enjoys them.

Sunday I am at youngest DDs for dinner so very little cooking to do over the weekend . But I'm happy not to be going near the shops as well as they are getting too crowded and I have more than enough stuf indoors and I am running down the freezer hopefully

Hope everyone has a good day if they can,

Take care chums and keep warm and dry

    Morning all from Mehefinland

hugs and spoons to those in need. Been MIA a little as RL got in the way but have been lurking and reading.

Spent a lot of time in the last week or so putting together a war poetry presentation for my local community library. It can get quite depressing as its not the easiest of subjects and I had not realised just how much stuff is out there. Think I'm poetried out for a bit.
We held it last night and those who attended enjoyed it ( well at least they said so:D) We had the local scout troup come in to read the names of the fallen off our local memorial, and then one of them played "last Post" on the bugle.. It was very emotional at the time. I found out later through his Dad that it was the first time he had played it with an audience. A few bum notes but a well deserved pat on the back from me.#
The saga of Scoobymare's foot continues.. shoe of again and another poultice:mad: She's quite comical as she lifts her hoof up off the ground as if to say 'its this one Dad' . If only they could speak.
A neighbour gave me a poppy tag to go on Sally dogs collar yesterday so she is doing her bit for remembrance too.

And then Mrs M's car failed the MOT spectacularly , so more monies to find. Coil spring, trailing ends ( what ever they are) and a load of welding required. They are going to price it up and then we can decide.
Not much more to say but keep well and safe.

Well that's the last chemo done and the picc line is out after much faffing, took longer to get it out than to put it in and I'm glad I asked for local, I could stil feel it through that. Now, if only the muscle drain would go away I could get on with some stuff.
A mountain of washing up awaits me, a visit back to the hospital to pick up some more drugs that they forgot to give me, 2 loads of washing and tumble drying since it's just stared hissing down and probably a fire later on are all in my future today...Two of those things may get done. I'm probably over estimating again, but at least I'll be dressed later on and I can shower without cling film cutting off my circulation again! Huzzah!

Sorry for your families loss nmlc. Gers, sorry to hear your news too, hope they can make your mam as comfortable as possible. Hester, sounds like CHS needs to keep himself a bit less stressed.. Thoughts to all who are not well in general or having a crap time of it.

Your boots sound cool Nelski, and sounds like the mattress is working its magic :) Wee Midgie, enjoy your swim and hearing shennaigans :) bella, ask about whether the extensions wil thin it more, I know sometimes the ectra weight of them can pull out what's there.
    Comforting pre-weekend cwtches.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) especially to those of you with problems NMIC sympathy for your loss. Hester......what can I say, CHS will never change, I hope he continues to make progress. As you know I have been down the 'no salt' route with OH, not that it made any difference to his vertigo.

Dull morning, have put off washing the towels till tomorrow, OH assures me it will be a better day.

Nightmare visit to the pacemaker clinic, everything is ok with the pacemaker but trying to find a place to park was awful. I was almost late for my appointment.

Good visit with quilting friend, we sat and put the world to rights over a cup of tea. Considering she is almost blind , she does very well.

I was going to change my mobile over to PAYG, but have elected to have a slightly bigger one, I do suffer from 'fat fingers' at times.

Spag bol and garlic bread tonight, banana for dessert.
  • Good morning :D

Up early today to make sure DH & DSis get off in plenty of time to catch the Channel train - they then have a 330 mile trip to their overnight stop  DH is up & ready butDSis is just stirring as I took her a cup of tea. tru, I don’t have one of those smart meters but I’m with you on thinking it weird to use electricity to find out how much electricity you are using !

Nelski, good call from accountant & a good sleep - what more can you ask for except perhaps a £1 million cheque :rotfl: Be strong with the clothes sorting :D

bellabella, enjoy your trip to Lidl :D Much as I dislike shopping it is nice to have a mooch around a new layout - but just the once :rotfl:

Gers, please take care of yourself & sorry about the news re your mum. Hugs to you both.

OL, hope the day continues to be at least OK if not better :)

WeeMidgie, good luck with the demonstration

Hester, hope CHS is better today & that your shopping trip is not too horrendous :)

DH & DSis only left 8 minutes late :D a minor triumph as I chivvied them out the door :rotfl:

Gentle (((HUGS))) to everyone with special attention to Polly, Holly & -taff

I have a long ‘To Do’ list which I will get cracking on once I have had a cuppa :rotfl:
