So today i paid for a ticket online (as is required because the car park doesn't have a pay and display machine.. for convenience, apparently).
When the driver returned to my car it had a PCN on it, which is annoying having already paid 7.60 to park in a car park which is no more than a 3rd full at the best of times.
On review, its possible that I may have selected the wrong town car park in the drop down menu. It's not immediately obvious in the drop down that it classes it as two desperate parking areas. in fact the Dash payment site is utter trash.
Given i have paid, just potentially for the wrong car park, will an appeal to NCP work, or is it likely they will be !!!!!! about it?

Send the blue text appeal that you will find in post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Send it unchanged - no additions or alterations necessary.
Send it as the keeper.
Send it on day 26 following the incident.
It is likely they will be a***holes about it.0 -
Is that relevant still? given my payment and car reg and details are on record with them?
Also, as there is an appeal option through their website, is it worth attaching the payment reciept?0 -

In a word yes.
In view of recent edit above. Send it unaltered without addition or subtraction.0 -
Yes but surely you have read in the NEWBIES thread already, NOT TO APPEAL UNTIL DAY 26 (and why to delay 3.5 weeks, which we won't re-post and explain all over again on individual threads)...rockfordstone wrote: »Is that relevant still?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

yes i have read the post and will be waiting until day 26 to appeal. with the blue lettering
my question was more as this a case of having already inputted my name, details and made payment i wasn't sure if myself responding as "the keeper" would make a difference.
clearly it does0 -
Making payment just places you as an occupant of the car, not the driver.
Stay in ''keeper mode''. It matters hugely, with a windscreen PCN!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You could have been a passenger. I've even paid for Mrs waamos parking sitting at home while she's been out in my car before now.0

Fair point. I'm going to follow the post but build some appeal evidence for back up if/when I need it0
-
another question if i may.
I have seen on here how some success have come from complaining directly to the landowner or business etc
given that a fee was paid to NCP for the parking of the car the PCN was on, is there any stock in raising a complaint with the rail company running the station?
would this invalidate any appeal i bring against NCP in terms of the "keeper" letter? presumably if i did this it would be a matter of not mentioning who the driver was?
thanks in advance0 -
Do not get in touch with the rail company.
They are the only ones who can bring a prosecution in the Magistrates Court.
At the moment they have no way of knowing, or of getting hold of, the name of the driver, keeper or owner of the vehicle.
Keep it that way.0
