Don't bother with NSPCC, they will just make a note of the concerns and pass them to the statutory agency (Social Services) anyway.

Poor advice, social services have to carry out a full in-depth assessment on an NSPCC referral. Whereas one that comes straight to social services doesn’t have to have a report off one visit.
  • Snap. Lovely old lady next door died and the family rent it out through the council who promptly moved in the scum. Worse in the summer with the windows open effing and jeffing from 5am onwards. You have my sympathy OP.

It always amazes me how bad some council tenants can be. They seem to lack the basic human common sense and normal behaviour.
    :jTo be Young AGAIN!!!!...what a wonderfull thought!!!!!

You shout when you're at the end of your tether, at breaking point, when lots has been going on/wrong.... not as "the norm".

Gobby trout needs to wind her neck in.

Get her the box set of Super Nanny and post them through her door in the dead of night - you'll know how well received that is as you'll be able to hear her response along the road.

It's not acceptable, even if it seems quite common. Please let someone know, for the sake of those children. Mum may just need some support and SS can signpost that support.
  • Would you like to be shouted and sworn at aggressively on a regular basis, No well imagine how much more frightening it must be for a child who doesn't understand and can't do anything to stop it.

    Stressed or not report her.

This sort of thing is also learned behaviour, the children think it's normal so it will carry on when they have children, a bit like daddy hits mummy so they think that all dads hit mums.......

Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree the kids will probably learn the same behaviour then I guess there will be 5 of them all yelling! Seriously though I think I will report it. I can understand the odd loud exchange if really stressed but screaming at 6am? The other day I heard ' put your *uckin* bowl in the sink!!!' I was outside the front at the time and a lad walking by looked shocked having also heard it. I've also heard her call her daughter a b*tch. I think she is about 9.
In other aspects they are good neighbours. House and garden kept nice. They take in parcels for us and there is no other noise such as music or dogs. It's really not a case of complaining because I'm being disturbed, it's because of the kids welfare.
