Wow well that's interesting I'll be looking out for that
I am definitely going to try again in a different store. Is this the pack you saw? http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1090068&classificationid=1040545
I just called CS who said they will take it up with the store in question (West Bromwich btw for those who are thinking of trying it there - its probably best to try somewhere else) they added 500 points onto my card for the inconvenience and apologised. They said I could try again in another store and if it didn't work, to still purchase the items and phone them up again to have the points added on.. so I'll see what happens tomorrow in a different store and let you all know.
I'd be interested to see if anyone is able to use these vouchers without having to have the points added on automatically.
Oh gawd, I have fond (not!) memories of shopping at that store. Bedshaped, is this your local store? I have family who live near there. I once shopped at that store and I have to say it's by far the worst store (that I have visited) in terms of jobworths. I hope you have better luck at another store. I find the staff at wolverhampton and B'ham new street (especially new st) are really nice and helpful.0 -
bargainhuntergal wrote: »Just a quick follow up, I've now emailed them about the whole thing, so I will see what they say, I'm seriously considering giving Boots a miss from now on! I've already spent half of the points I was saving for the Nintendo on a half price sonicare toothbrush (I wanted to get the ultrasonex phaser system with the flosser brush but the label underneath said in tiny letters the dates which I thought it was valid for, it said until 20-11-07, but the label wasn't there when I went back to buy it but they had a shelf full of the toothbrushes  ) I ended up buying the sonicare, which after reading reviews appears to be better anyway! So I'll let them off this time!! I think I'm just going to spend the other half of my points and be done with them, unless theres an offer where I virtually get my money back in points on something I really do want, as it might be worth it still (if I can then find something to spend my points on!), but other than that I think I'll defect to Superdrug! They're cheaper most of the time anyway!
Good luck with getting your Nintendo, I might just save my points for the January sales. When I asked in store about Nintendos I got looked at as if I had 2 heads, OFCOURSE they didn't sell them there. Plus we couldn't find them in the catalogue either. This SA obviously didn't remember they had sold Xboxes for £10 before (yes, I know, long time ago).
BTW can you use your points at the Clinique counter? Would have to travel to other store for this, but not sure if this is possible. Thanks for any replies.

bargainhuntergal wrote: »Hi, according to Boots Customer Services the DS Lites are discontinued in store, I know the website doesn't say 'online only' which I think is really wrong, I was saving up my points (buying things I didn't really need to get extra points!) to find a store with one in and buy it with those, so rang CS to ask which one has them in and they said none do as they are discontinued in stores.
If you have seen some in store, would you mind telling me which store it was in please?0 -
This is why I never go to Boots Deepdale - have never got a bargain their yet and the SA guard their stock and inspect the vouchers as if you were trying to steal from them - makes me feel very uncomfortable so go to Blackpool or Preston Centre when I am "bootsing"
Gosh, lots of Preston Bootsers - it is no wonder all the best bargains are gone when I get there. I go into the Deepdale branch all the time and have never had a problem - in fact some wonderful glitches have gone by unnoticed! I've always found the No 7 people (well it is one particular SA when I go in after work) very nice. In fact, on one occasion I told her I was trying to work out how to split my shop to get the best points and she helped me out saying everyone does it! However, I think it is better to go to the tills where I've always found they just share in your delight at having got a bargain.
Only problem is my neighbour now works there and has a tendency to turn up to chat - you don't always want a nice conversation when you're asking for something at the pharmacy! Actually, she's given up teaching to work in Boots as it is less stressful so the Bootsers can't be that much hard work, can they!0 -
