Just been into Blackpool branch in my lunchhour & got accosted by a survey person, to complete a questionairre about that branch....pity she didn't ask about how helpful the SA's are (or not...) or I'd have been there all weekend!
  • I had also been saving my points to get a DS Lite for an October birthday and in the end rang Boots CS to tell me which stores had them in stock. None!! And they couldn't promise they would come back before Christmas either. So in the end I ordered mine from Tesco, ordered it online as part of a grocery delivery and used one of the discount codes floating around at the time. They still sell them at Tesco for £96.xx. If you want a package, Argos may be a good choice, they have offers on with various games etc.

I bought a case for it in Woolworths for only £4.99, they have a choice of colours but were kept behind the counter in my store, so had to ask for them. In Argos I only saw black cases. HTH.

    Poundsinbucks x :D

    Hi thanks for the reply!

I'm going to try and get one from John Lewis with the £20 code, if I finally catch the white ones in stock!

What annoyed me about Boots was that I rang once and spoke to a man, he said that they were discontinued in stores, he told me that I could order it in store and pay with points. I wasn't sure this was right as other people have said you couldn't do this but I didn't get his name so nearer the time I was going to buy it I rang them again. I spoke to a woman and got her name, she said exactly the same thing about being able to pay with points if ordering in store. I went to the store and they said it can't be done because they didn't have a code, they rang CS and spoke to the same lady that I spoke to, she didn't have a code either. The store said that even if they did have a code I would have to pay with money or gift vouchers and I can't use points! I was so fed up as CS got it wrong twice!!! Spoke on the phone in store to a CS supervisor and he didn't even apologise for their mistake! I was made to be treated as if I'd made the whole thing up! The supervisor also told me that I couldn't 'buy it online and take it back to the store for a refund and then buy back with points' I was so mad, I hadn't even asked this and I would never consider doing that anyway as it's kind of dishonest!! All in all I really wasn't pleased with the whole experience and it's left me wondering whether to give up Boots altogether if there aren't the high value things for me to buy in store with points! (I already have a new iPod which I got for my Birthday, otherwise I'd have bought one of those!)

Sorry for the rant, but it was so annoying!

Edit: I haven't contacted CS about this yet, I'd feel a bit awkward complaining to them about them, if that makes sense! Also, I complained a few weeks back about the CS in one local store! (They were really helpful this time though, they were glad that I let them know it was bad, they spoke to the store and out of the blue I got a £10 gift card!) so I'd also feel awkward complaining again! But, if they got it right in the first place....

I've looked and got 1500 for 3 gift fragrance sets (Lancome) then 2 x 1000 for Lancome as put Juicy Tubes gift set in too. So 3700points for £73 spend. Then I suppose the extra 1000points code so 4700.
To do it your way - which are the cheapest Lancome items as when I go to the page where you can put cost of items as a filter it just shows gift sets not moisturisers etc.???

    Thanks!

The cheapes thing is the shampoo at 10.50 i think but that does not count towards the 1200pts on £50 spend. Personally i never got fragrnces as i really dont want/need i just got what i needed.
i got 2 x Juicy Tubes sets (presents) and 2 x Dior Top Coat for the Dior gift (as i already have the Lancome bag)

  • Just a quick follow up, I've now emailed them about the whole thing, so I will see what they say, I'm seriously considering giving Boots a miss from now on! I've already spent half of the points I was saving for the Nintendo on a half price sonicare toothbrush (I wanted to get the ultrasonex phaser system with the flosser brush but the label underneath said in tiny letters the dates which I thought it was valid for, it said until 20-11-07, but the label wasn't there when I went back to buy it but they had a shelf full of the toothbrushes  ) I ended up buying the sonicare, which after reading reviews appears to be better anyway! So I'll let them off this time!! I think I'm just going to spend the other half of my points and be done with them, unless theres an offer where I virtually get my money back in points on something I really do want, as it might be worth it still (if I can then find something to spend my points on!), but other than that I think I'll defect to Superdrug! They're cheaper most of the time anyway!

Wow well that's interesting I'll be looking out for that :D I am definitely going to try again in a different store. Is this the pack you saw? http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1090068&classificationid=1040545

I just called CS who said they will take it up with the store in question (West Bromwich btw for those who are thinking of trying it there - its probably best to try somewhere else) they added 500 points onto my card for the inconvenience and apologised. They said I could try again in another store and if it didn't work, to still purchase the items and phone them up again to have the points added on.. so I'll see what happens tomorrow in a different store and let you all know.

I'd be interested to see if anyone is able to use these vouchers without having to have the points added on automatically.

yep thats the one but ive just been back to boots and they now have a sign with the £13.odd up although they have now restocked the shelf after telling me this morning that they had none  but whats interesting is the shelf is stacked high and covering a promotion sign saying half price on all gillette fusion stealth gifts.which would make it £9.99. wonder if that promotion is starting soon?? and it doen't say up to half price either. might wait and see what happens.:D

I used this yesterday and got:

Lancome Bifacil (eye make up remover) £17
    Lancome Colour Fever Lippie £16
2 x Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Moisture cream £9.95 reduced from £41

    Total Spend £52.90
    Points earned 3410

Very pleased with this as I've been looking for a 'proper' lipstick in the same shade as the glossy one I normally wear as the glossy one seems to slide off and I've used over half the stick thingy in 2 weeks just reapplying!

did you get these in store? Thanks.
  • hi today i got the T&G moisture inject shampoo (4.99)
and T&G mini funky gum (1.69)

used £2 off voucher, and f'ree mini with full-sized T&G product voucher' (from machine) and it all came to £1.30

so i really think it must depend on some product combinations...

on receipt it took off £1.69 for funky gum
    and then £1.69 again
and then £2.00 (the hair voucher)
