  • Taffy what a lovely thing to do, I had my first child at 18 if that young girl had been me I would have hugged you and cried.
Please do not be put off by some peoples reactions. I regularly stick pay and display parking tickets back on the machine if there is a decent time left on them.

aawwwwwwwww IDLIKE see the world is a worth while place after all and maybe wee girl wasn't shown much kindness in her life and didn't know how to respond. I am glad there are so many of us still left in this world.
  • I gave a bloke in the queue behind me once a voucher which was the other half of one I was using on the last day of use so no good to me. He was absolutely thrilled to bits. I told him what to buy to get it near enough free I think, and he was dead chuffed. Please don't be put off. Young people seem to be suspicious of anything different and I am sure when she got her bargains she wished she hadn't been so negative.
There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.

I always hand out my extra vouchers - the £5 off No7 ones went down particularly well! Everyone's always been very grateful, never any odd comments or looks. Maybe we're just friendlier up north! but don't let it put you off - it's a very nice thing to do.

    50p off shapers meal deal
    total £6.60!!!

god i love boots, roll on the 75 % off sale!!! saving my survey vouchers for this!

I had an embarassing moment trying to use 50p off voucher last week. I made sure I selected all shapers products, assistant scanned them and then tried to put through voucher. It would not accept it. She checked it was in date. I said well I came in specifically to buy meal deal. I just assumed she would have power to just enter 50p discount manually. She asked girl on other till who didn't know and was just clocking off. She called supervisor over and then he had to go away to fetch till keys.

Meanwhile huge queue building up. They never have enough assistants on tills especially bearing in mind this was lunchtime. For the amount I should have just said never mind but for some stubborn reason I persisted on principle that they sent me the voucher. As I left I discovered that till had not added advantage points ( I had put card in machine at beginning of transaction) so not sure if that was why voucher not accepted.

Scanning makes tills so easy these days. When I was 15/16 I was a Boots shelf filler and they needed extra staff on Saturdays. They put me on the busiest tills near the door, i think it was Xmas time also. The tills those days were all manual typing in the prices and working out the change. I bet that till never balanced. Although good at Maths it was so busy I'm bound to have made some mistakes.
