  • Taffy please dont be put off.....i love people like you - when something nice is done i actually feel happier for the rest of the day. I wish i had been the one you bumped into when i had had LO as you would have made my day - not neccessarily for what you were offering but for your kindness.

I often offer people my travel cards if it is still early in the day and i no longer need them. Most people are astonished and very grateful, a few have thought it was dodgy (why?) as probably they dont meet many thoughtful people. It has never put me off though so please dont think twice as we need people like you in this world.

Big hugs to you taffy! x

    Hello everyone,

Just a wee note to the Dundee Bootsers to say the Advantage Card Machine is now working!!!! Well it was around 5.30pm tonight and for the first time my son's card which he has had for around a year now gave him something other than a competition entry...............350pts on a £30 spend. Ok that was it, but it's a start.

As for pointing out things to other shoppers, I got a look of well as if I had horns after saying to a lady that she would be entitled to a free no7 gift with one of her 3 for 2 purchases as it was £18 on it's own, plus she had other stuff in her basket.

Sometimes you just can't help yourself and most of the time folks are greatful, but others, well you just need to move on.

PS Sugar hope all goes well on the day for you and remember you get lots of free drugs, don't be too proud or stubborn to accept them, some actually work (paracetamol does nowt for labour pains by the way!)
  • hi all;just had what l think might be a bright idea-when we have spare vouchers we could leave them at the photo desks in a sealed envelope with a code name on it for when there's no time to post them!!!l'd say martin lewis? lol.ps good luck sugar & that was really nice of you taffy-l guess the civilians out there are just strange huh?

Aww ellie we need more people like you too lol I do exactly what you just said, whilst in Wales visiting relatives and having to take the bus I get a day tripper and when I get off I quickly pass it to someone at the bus stop and say it will work for the rest of the night. Try and pick a kid with a thin jacket lol. Wasnt saying it for everyone to think how nice I am tho just what a different response on here when you say you have vouchers and things everyone is so happy and will use them. Some dont like the stigma of using coupons makes them look poor maybe. Really it is the opposite it is the ones that use them that are not poor. Still I used to hate it when I was a young teen and my gran used to take me shopping to Neath in Wales and use provident coupons cos she couldn't afford to buy me clothes outright. What a rip off those vouchers were and you could only use them in the expensive old fashioned shops not C & A. Taffy

I offered to send in a SAE for OH (romantic, I know) but he sulked. Hope somebody here was lucky, I wonder what Mr B does with all the unused SAEs?
