Well done baby on your goodies reminded me of when I was in Boots for xmas night I saw a young girl with a wee baby in a pram she didn't look very old and didn't look very rich. I hope she didnt think I was a weirdo but I went up to her and said "excuse me I have this 500 point coupon for a 10 baby spend so you can get a fiver back if you have an advantage card. She said she did have one so I said "oh and I have this parenting thing here and if you spend that money on nappies here is a voucher for a free change bag." I laughed and said "I think I am a bit too old to use it." I thought she would have been thrilled but she looked at me very suspiciously and went off to find what looked like her mum and maybe the baby's gran and pointed at me. I felt like a pervert or something. Hope I didn't offend or anything. Still I do not know if I would do it again afterwards thought I should have offered it on here. You lot just know that I am weird and will take my coupons anyway lol. Taffy

    Hi Taffy
I had something like this happen to me once. I had a whole bunch of the £2.00 photo vouchers, so I thought I would ask the people who were using the kiosks if they would want them - well NEVER again!! One man turned to me and said "I don't do that sort of thing" what he meant (or thought I meant) I will never know. The rest just ignored me. Lesson learned

    Hi Natasha,
I think it is a reflection of our society , people just don't talk to others they do not know , and if you try - they think you are weird! I still strike up conversations with people I don't know , but I have had some odd reactions , even aggression on one occasion! When I offered someone my vouchers in Boots they looked at me as if I had been beamed in from mars, so now I just leave them near the products instead.
Sometimes the world can be a lonely place , but I have come to the conclusion , some people like it that way! :rotfl:

Just come back from the Trafford Centre Boots. A nice young SA said the Ruby and Millie half price offer starts on Friday. They had loads of stock in already. It does look really nice. Would never have paid £50.00 for it - but could be tempted by £25.00. Does anyone know if it will still be on 3 for 2?

I would imagine so as it goes through at 342 online.

Too true, unfortunately. In the past I've offered spare vouchers to other shoppers, but I too have had some strange reactions. Now I just leave unwanted vouchers on the shelf so people can help themselves.

Taffy, you were really kind to offer that girl a handful of your vouchers. I once offered a SA a revlon voucher as she said she really liked revlon. You should of seen the look on her face. she said she'd get the sack if she took it. I don't know if that's true, but I felt terrible afterwards. I kept thinking: what if she'd took it and lost her job:eek:

I think I have a 1.00 off 4.00 HC voucher...somewhere! I bought some medicine the other day on bogof, but I thought you had to spend 4.00 after bogof kicks-in for the voucher to work?
  • To all of you kind people who give spare vouchers to strangers who look like they might use them - please don't let the reactions of some miserable people stop you doing this! I've never had anyone offer me a voucher for anything, but I know I'd be really really grateful if someone I didn't know took the time to come up to me in a store and do this!

Unfortunately I think it is a sad reflection on our society that people are automatically suspicious of people they don't know, especially when you try to do something kind. If we don't challenge this though, who will??!

    :D

The £1 off £4.00 HC voucher came in the health club mailing. Haven't used mine yet though, so can't comment on if it works on bogof stuff or if you have to spend the full £4.00 after bogof:confused:
