Previous owners parcels

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but hopefully someone has some insight.
We keep getting parcels for the previous owners of our house. Normally I refuse to take them but today one was left with a neighbour so I felt obliged to take it. I've asked neighbours if they have forwarding address or if they had contact number to tell them to update their address but no!!
We have been getting about three parcels (Next, Topshop, etc) a week for the past month (some probably the same but not all) and each week I am writing 'return to sender' on about 20 items of mail and have done since we moved in.
My good nature doesn't extend to spending money returning their post, especially since this is ongoing (once is fair enough!)
For background, we are renting this house and moved in September. Our LL bought it in July as a BTL so they moved out a while ago now!
What do I do with this parcel? There is no return address on outside although it says Topshop. I did think of trying to find them on FB and letting them know but that seems a bit stalkerish!?

Should have left with neighbour. Thats where the carrier will go to collect. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Open it, find the contact details for the sender and a reference number for the order and send an e-mail asking for it to be collected.0

This was my first thought but then I got all worried about the legality of opening someone else's package! (which just made me more annoyed at being responsible for someone else's parcel to being with!)
Guess it makes the most sense though.0 -
Don't worry about the legality side of it.
There's nothing illegal about opening mail addressed to other people, even if it's addressed to other people and a totally different address.
It's only illegal if you open it without reasonable cause and you are doing so with the intention of causing loss or harm to the intended recipient.0 -
How odd they havent addressed the issue of none of their new clothes turning up at their house.
Once or twice I get.... but what seems like a whole new wardrobe :rotfl:
Next time turn the man away at the door with not known at this address and leave the ones left with a neighbour as their problem to resolve.0 -

I know, right!
I'm getting a bit bitter they do so much internet shopping and get so much post delivered tbh! :rotfl:0 -
No, just keep returning to sender or refusing them - it’s the best way - you shouldn’t open them!0

In the interests of neighbourliness, I'd suggest to your neighbours that they refuse to sign for anything addressed to Mr/Ms X at your address.Make £2025 in 2025

Carry on refusing parcels and returning to sender. Get a proof of posting receipt at the Post Office. Anything Royal Mail cannot easily forward Royal Mail will either store or open for the addresss. This is done all the time with parcels at the depot.
Do not open other people's mail. You would be putting yourself in a poor position legally. If something is missing or damaged you could be blamed.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
