Credit score and parking tickets

Dear Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking Members,

Great information and help you provide, thanks.

I would say it does include everything with the exception of credit score. I suggest you update the ""**NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!"" with information about credit score and how parking tickets might affect it.

Can you please clarify when does a parking ticket demand of payment by parking companies affect my credit score and is there a way to fix it?

Also, I have appealed (got rejected) a parking ticket that I received by post (Notice to Keeper) after a windscreen ticket (that I had no idea was issued) and asked for evidence. The evidence shows nothing just the inside of the car and a picture of the windscreen ticket affixed to the car. There is no proof as the registered keeper that this is my car, no picture of the registration number or anything of that sort. Will this hold in court?

Many thanks,

Earthl1ng

Only if you end up losing in court (or ignore a court claim)

If you do you get a CCJ against you

You fix it by paying it off within a month from the date of the judgement

tag the link above about ccj myths etc.
If you have a parking charge ticket, you've gone about asking for help in a backwards way.
PPCs use fear and misinformation to make people worry, panic, and ultimately pay up.
going by your opening post, the parking company has got is foot in your door.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by early in the New Year.

    This is too optimistic.

OP, continue following the advice in the FAQ on dealing with this and don't expect the matter to disappear by way of the PPC disappearing like this!

A parking ticket cannot impact on your credit file. It is not a credit agreement merely an alleged debt.

A ccj will affect your credit file but there is absolutely no need for this to escalate that far.

    @beamerguy

Thank you everyone for your replies, they are much appreciated.
  • Hi I'm new to all this, But I got a letter from ncp saying I owe £60 and I didn't remember parking there and didn't get round to paying it and it got passed on to bw legal, I haven't had any letters and I phoned them today and I now have a ccj? But I didn't get any letter from a court? What should I do? I feel scammed ( I also emailed be legal asking how much the balance was and I had no reply)
