Harassment at work

How would you broach the subject with the person involved without seemingly turning it into a big deal or for them to take offence? I don't want to start raising this as formal matter given my service within the company.
Congrats on your new senior manager role.
Now you have to start acting like a senior manager. You need to be able to resolve small conflicts in the workplace without even thinking about 'grievances' or talking about 'harassment'. Think about it this way - if this was happening in your team, HR would come to you to solve it, so it is not a good look if you start going to them! Your role is deescalate and solve problems, as a senior manager you will be expected to already have many of the skills to deal with this situation.
You just need to have a direct conversation, explain how you feel whilst being empathetic to the fact she probably had no idea it was upsetting you. I assume that you've been a manager and have, at least, some experience in holding 'difficult' conversations which will come in handy.0 -

Must be Dilbert's senior manager if they need help to do that.
Probably explains the puddy cat pictures too.Originally Posted by shortcrust

A course in anger management to supplement their senior management qualifications seems more appropriate.Originally Posted by shortcrust

Good bye.
What amazes me is that you're a senior manager and you don't know how to deal with the situation.
I suspect now you've been told how to ignore people, I may end up on the list, but do at least consider this: you can't put people at work on ignore.
I do actually sympathise, I've managed teams in the past and had some real horrors - believe me, your situation is mild by comparison. In my case, I decided that the extra money wasn't worth the extra stress, and I don't do that anymore.
I have never felt more empowered than the day I decided that.0 -

I've actually given you a thanks as opposed to the user whom I did place on block as you at least offered some constructive advice rather than a totally pointless, negative post.0 -
Hmm - says the 'Senior Manager' who seems to have more employment issues than I've made posts.westbridgfordguy wrote: »If you're not going to offer anything constructive why bother posting anything at all?
If you can't create a working environment that's productive/constructive/respectful then maybe time to drop the 'Senior Manager' aspiration and regroup your thoughts whilst living off your savings

As a general observation not directed against anyone in particular I've never come across a more judgemental group of posters whom luckily are in the minority.
I blame myself for inviting this by posting on here which is a shame for all other reasonable posters looking for balanced, constructive advice and may put people off posting on here at all.0
