Cyberpower PC UK

I preordered a £3000 PC from cyber power system for the new 2080ti graphics cards coming out. When it arrived the graphics card was broken so they arranged for it to be picked up and fixed. When it came back they have changed the graphics card to another model. They say MSI RTX2080ti I purchased was just any brand they had in at the time, as the website is not brand specific.

So for one I preordered it, the picture on the website was for the MSI GEFORCE RTX 2080 TI GAMING X TRIO not the MSI RTX 2080ti Ventus they replaced it with which is cheaper and lower specs. They have now changed the photo and specs to the Ventus model on their website and say photos are just for illustration purpose only. So they will not change it and will not pay for postage back to them because they say it isn’t faulty and is classed as a change of mind.

So I am going to send it back for a full refund, am I entitled to the postage cost? What if the graphics card broke in 6 months can they just give you what’s in stock?

Not brand specific so you got a 2080ti as promised.

Nothing wrong with the new card. Other than the clock speed which may get 0.0001 fps more if your lucky whats the difference?

None, these cards are so fast it will be a long time before anything can actually challenge them.

A repair or replacement needs to bring goods back within conformity of the contract. If goods match their description, are of satisfactory quality etc then they'll conform to contract. If they don't, then you have the right to reject the goods (and if its within the first 6 months and not a motor vehicle, it needs to be a full refund). Your other alternative is agreeing a price reduction to account for the lower spec'd/different GPU being supplied during that repair.

The consumer right act specifically states that - whether the consumer is under an obligation to return the goods or not - the retailer is liable for the reasonable costs associated with returning the goods.

  • Thanks for the reply guys. The fact they changed the picture and info of the card on their website. Why bother if you send out what card you like. It’s like hooking people in then giving you something else. They could of phoned and said sorry we run out how about this instead. I am sending it back they can suck it will never use cyber power again. I
