    Afternoon all
We went shopping this morning and it was so quiet in the shops and the car parks :j. First to Ar*os to collect a folding bed and then into Sm*ths toy shop, which is almost next door, to get a Ninte*do game for DGS. These games are so small and expensive .
We called in Al*i on the way home for a few bits and I remembered to buy some marzipan ready for the Xmas cakes. Speaking of which, I need to get those started next week as times-a-ticking !
I have brought in the bins and recycling box, but I had to go looking for the "cardboard" bag. I don't know why the bin men can't put it back or at least near the right house .
I am going do a wash load this afternoon but it will have to dry indoors, as it's really damp outside. I also need to cut up the bed box and place it in the "cardboard" bag and then have a tidy round in the kitchen. Tea tonight will be the rest of the brisket with chips or mash and gravy.
Well I suppose I'd better get off my backside and do something. Give me a push please someone, anyone :rotfl:.
Take care and hugs to anyone who needs/wants one.
    nan xx

  • Organza_Lace - mmmm - frozen chocolate is my REAL guilty pleasure. Just love the chill and texture of it .
Has your DS every been in a 'Supported Living' environment - might be worth your while talking to the Support Worker about the possibilities. Obviously, I don't know what kind of facilities are available in your area - I just know that there're a couple of places like that where I live - with on-site support/supervision where 'acceptance of that support/supervision' is a condition of living there. The residents get to live in their own 'Mini-flat' where they are responsible for their own bills - but there is a Communal Lounge for socialising with other residents and some planned activities and a Laundry. They also get assistance with Budgetting/Shopping/Learning to Cook etc.

Organza_Lace - I'm sorry you're in such a tight spot with him :(. He can only see that 'other people' are always the problem - not HIM personally :(. Think I'd be telling him to 'go and live with his mate' - that'd soon finish that friendship off ;).

I'm amazed that the Housing allowed his mate to 'inherit the tenancy' from his mother. The Housing Association that I worked for did everything in their power to get 'singles' to move out of 'family properties' - even down to a financial carrot being dangled in front of them (Re-settlement Allowance) and assistance with moving out - but they had to make the decision to move 'while the offer was still on the table' ;).

Then again, the 'Bedroom Tax' on being 'over housed', was usually another reason for them to give up a House for a smaller flat.

In the meantime, sending you positive thoughts and (((HUGSS)))) - luv Ollie xx

Late to the thread today, I did speed read the first few posts this morning but had to see to some urgent admin and then meet a friend who I hadn't seen for a couple of months.

Then I came home, had soup for lunch then thought I'd lie down for half an hour.... and woke up about 20 minutes ago. Feeling much better, after the white tornado effect of my lovely but exhausting, err, very lively visitor. She's moved on to nearby friends and I may see her for a day visit later in her grand tour.
We did quite a few errands she wanted to achieve and I took her out for a superb meal on Sunday evening, so it we t well. Just tiring!

So, back to auld claes and porridge now!

Have a good evening everyone. xxx

    Hi everyone

Been reading along, busy with work and trying to catch up with chores and sleep when not working.

Organza lace - sending hugs and strength your way, you are dealing with a situation that is not of your making but still pulling you in numerous ways both mentally and emotionally. I have no words if advice as I thought my youngest had started to make bad decisions but thankfully seems to have motivation to work to earn money at the moment. I am hoping this lasts. I can only hope.

Nelski - thanks for the update on holly - could you add my name to the card.

HH - hope chs continues to improve.
Silver oldie - hopefully as your grandson gets older he will be able to see you on his own. Is he old enough to receive a chatty letter or a funny card.

TA - lovely to see you posting. Thinking of you all.

Hugs and get well wishes to all the poorly ones. Take care

Almost bed time... Its been a busy day, first to Warfarin clinic with OH, then for his chest Xray, quick breakfast and collect the 3 granddaughters from creche, DGD6 fell asleep on way home and slept on my knee, much to the discombobulation of DGD7 who wanted to play with her..... her mam moved her up to my bed where she slept for a further hour, by which time the other 2 had decided that they didn't want to go home.... so much discussion was needed on that!. They are lovely little girls, I feel so blessed to see so much of them.

Glad to hear Holly's good news, she will be back to her old self in no time.

DSIL on dinner duty so we had a lovely roast chicken with lots of veg and mash, apple pie to follow.

Hugs to all in need or want, take care of yourselves.
