ppl reclaim

Can anyone help please .
We have used the resolver to contact banks to see if we had ppi . RBS have replied saying we did have ppi. We don’t recognise the last four account numbers . We don’t have much old paper work available. Called RBS to ask for more information, they told us to contact Natwest direct. Natwest say they can’t find the account .
What should we do next ?
We know we had ppi with the NatWest now . We have always been self employed and thought maybe we may have a claim . But unsure what to put on the form as we have no information on the actual ppi .
Any ideas of what do next please
Thank you Sarah

Not necessarily. It is possible to "have" PPI without ever paying a penny. For example, on credit cards, you only paid PPI if you borrowed on it outside the interest-free period. So, if its an old credit card you never borrowed on, you would have nothing refunded on an upheld complaint.

It could be a clerical error or a policy that was cancelled before inception. Just as easy as you could have actually paid premiums.

Whilst a significant minority of plans don't cover the self-employed (or impose onerous conditions) then majority do.

Do a Subject Access request (SAR) with natwest. That will supply any details they hold.

Natwest only ever retailed monthly premium standalone MPPI. It would almost certainly have had its own direct debit and policy number. If you keep your bank statements, it would appear on there.

Most MPPI covers the self employed. Only a small number do not.

You are the one that would be alleging wrongdoing. So, what is the wrongdoing you allege and do you have any supporting evidence to back up your allegation?

MPPI does not suffer the same issues to the same level as PPI on loans or credit cards. Monthly premium standalone plans are how PPI should be set up (unlike loans where single premium with interested added to it are often the case). MPPI covers a secured debt with lifestyle changing consequences if it goes unpaid. Unlike a loan or credit card. This is why you see most MPPI complaints fail.

You need a complaint reason and ideally one that is strong enough rather than a made-up allegation that is easily refuted.

Hope someone can help. I know for a fact that i had PPI but not sure if i can claim. Already been told i wouldnt be able to claim but that's from the company that would have to repay me.
This was when i took out the dreaded Northern Rock Together mortgage which was 125% (mortgage plus loan). I needed this to buy the house.
A year into this i split from my fiancee, lost my job and house all in same week at Christmas 2000.
Took me ages to sort out and wet bankrupt on June 1st 2001 (birthday) and was cleared of bankruptcy on my 40th birthday 2004. Even got a cheque back from the bankruptcy company.
However when the recent PPI claims started happening i requested from NRAM details about PPI i was told, yes i had taken it out (didnt know i had otherwise i could have claimed) but NO you cant get it as it would go to NRAM.
I wasnt told how much the house went for so dont know if any of the loan was paid.
I am just wondering if i could get anything from the PPI.
