Hi Friday Frugalistas,
Useful day, but grocery shopping was much more over budget than I'd hoped. Hmmm. Think I might have to explore that on today's DFW diary entry. Anyway, back to today's list:
*5 bags delivered to charity shop - not money saving for us, but hopefully bargainaceous for someone else & we've got our landing back.
*Free mince pie with Waitrose loyalty card.
*Cleaned the house using minimal products & washable cloths.
*Saved packaging from my online Christmas present orders which arrived today - 2 good sturdy boxes & some bubblewrap.
*Entered a competition.
*Finished our Christmas shopping (gifts)
*Start reading my next book - another nearly new charity shop find.
*Knit a bit more jumper.
Am competing with cat for the fireside now. Only just put downstairs heating on as haven't felt too chilly this afternoon & was out this morning.
Peace to all,

DNMS - Sorry to hear about your friend. The best we can aim for with funerals is to reflect on & celebrate the life of the person, but they are such sad occasions. I've said goodbye to my Mum, my Dad & one of my very best friends over the last 18 months & while all the services have been lovely, the sadness & intensity of the occasion does stay with you for a long time xx2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Morning Saturday Savers,
Well, mr f has to work today so I'm up early so we can have breakfast together before he goes. My plans today include:
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Roast the meaty beef bones I bought yesterday & get them into the slow cooker to make a batch of beef & vegetable soup for mr f's work lunches.
*Wrap a few Christmas presents to free up my desk. Will maximise use of my recycled wrappings stash.
*Check my ebay listings. Only 2 more sales as of last night but lots of watchers.
*Entertain my lone self for free with my book, audiobook & TV boxset.
*Knit if it doesn't hurt my hand too much. Sure it's just an RSI but it is painful if I move it in a direction it'd rather not go.
*Alter meal plan slightly to make better use of fresh ingredients.
Have a good day all,

Morning all, almost finished the nightshift. It was busy than I thought it would be so didn't get much of my own stuff done (terrible that I have to actually do work at work eh?! :rotfl:). I'm going to try and avoid going to bed today so hoping a long list will stop me crying for my bed. Today's plans:
- Set Christmas budgets and plan what to buy people
- Write list of people to send Christmas cards to
- Check Christmas things in loft to see if I have enough cards left over from last year
- Stick to shopping list (not easy when you're accompanied by a man child)
- Check bank and update spreadsheet
- Put 10 things on EBay
- Collect my dog from my mum's as she's staying with us for the night
- Pray dog doesn't poo everywhere like she did the last time!!
- Make sure all devices are charged at work
- Take advantage of 25% at New Look & buy boots I've had my eye on for a while

Morning guys
We just got our pup back on Thursday and it was very timely. Despite the sadness of the time at the moment having a pup brings such joy. I've just got back from a 45 min walk in the woods and I dare anyone not to feel joy seeing a pup run around, tail wagging, grinning from ear to ear :happyhear
someone was disposing of a stainless steel pedal bin so I grabbed that on the way home as we needed another solution to our recycling situation as pup constantly is in the recycling box :rotfl:
Come back and feeling good after the exercise too
madam and oh at swimming lessons. I'm going to finish the coffee I'm drinking then whip round and get this house tidy!
Need to attack the washing mountain - both clean and in need of washing!
All meals from stores - need to do a meal plan and shopping list as have to go with oh as can't drive!
probably bake a cake, play some games, watch something with madam
will take pup for another walk later on. Forecast says it won't be raining between 2-4
secretly knitting when madam goes to bed. Currently knitting her some socks for xmas
ok that'll do! Happy weekend guys :ADF as at 30/12/16

Evening all
Quiet thread today!
Up early, walked the dog and went for my flu jab this morning, and ended up having a pneumonia one as well  Got absolutely soaked as I walked - OH had the car and I didn't want to brave trying to park the camper van in the tiny car park at the surgery when it was so busy with the flu clinic that they had volunteer parking marshals on duty  Anyway, done now, and the exercise won't have done me any harm.
Came back, changed my wet clothes and DD and kids turned up. Fed everyone, played with the children until DD took them home mid afternoon, by which time it was dog walking o'clock. Shattered now, and about to have an early night. Not sure which side I will manage to sleep on though, with 2 sore arms
Had more of my exceedingly hot chilli for dinner, and finished off the yogurt with it, so need to buy some more tomorrow.
OH has brought lots of game birds back with him, which he will be dealing with, but I will need to find space in the freezer  He also casually mentioned that he had bought half a lamb, but left it there in his host's freezer for now, thank goodness, to pick up another time.
My only spend today was £3.99 for a comic / magazine for GD, which she loves to choose from the corner shop on Saturdays
Need to do a small shop tomorrow after visiting the Sunday flea market though!0 -
Evening all
A very busy couple of days for me - I haven't even had the computer out at home. Work yesterday, followed by ds swimming lesson, followed by the weekly shop at Mr S (£75 - hopefully will do 10 days). Didn't sleep that well last night - I still have ds sleeping in with me and, as lovely as it is, he's a real bed hog.
Up early this morning to take some washing over to bestie's house (bless her) before I went tutoring. Filled the car with petrol on the way home and spent a couple of hours at bestie's house. Hopefully the washing machine will be fixed on Tuesday as I'm not sure how much longer I can survive without it. I definitely can't afford that heated airer though- it's almost as much as a new machine... (and it looks amazing).

Morning all. Lovely busy day yesterday with friends. We stayed in as weather was rubbish and I cooked so lots of ££ saved there. Today weather looks awful again so I'm not sure we'll be venturing far. List for today:
Prep roast and other things to go with it from scratch
Make suet pud in sc
Quick tidy round not in too bad a state as did lots pre visitors yesterday
Make some of dawns scones. Half batch made yesterday went
Homework done and stuff for week at school/work prepped
Do some sorting of big things in garage
DH and I both to the gym
Watch some tv with DH tonight
Some more washing I suspect, but will put on overnight as we have today moved to 2 rate leccy again so will maximise use of it.
Have a good day everyone. Purps.0
