How to recover music album from broken Sony mp3 player

How did he get the music onto the mp3 player in the first place?
Did he load it from CDs? Download it via iTunes? Some other method?0 -
If he purchased the music legitimately as digital downloads, then he should be able to download them from the source again. Similarly, if they came from CD rips then he ought to be able to re-rip them from the source.
(If it's stuff he nicked/pirated then he'll have to hoist his jolly roger and go on a voyage of finding them again, but we can't help with that here.)
It is impossible to conceive any situation where the only copy of any piece music in existence was on stored his device.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0 -
The main question that needs to be answered - that the OP hasnt done yet is to the nature of the failure and if the computer still makes the "bing bong" noise when it is connected to it
Any advice is purely speculative until this is known0 -
