    Thanks to everyone who offered advice, just finishing the story off. Dad was rushed into hospital the following week but he now looks like he will make a full recovery. Because of that, I didn't have the energy to try and sell it privately so I took it to WBAC. Had less than I wanted (but I also saw how much bodywork attention was needed - good job he is giving up driving !) but the process was quick and simple. Once I booked the appointment the whole thing was done in less than 30 minutes.

    The difference in names and addresses between you and your father wouldn't worry me at all - a 10yo Fiesta being sold because the owner was too old to drive? Hardly rare... - but not letting me drive the car would be a show-stopper, straight off.
