Your manager seems a real charmer...
But them a noose as a secret santa present.
People are right though, its been a long time since I've known of HR to help the individual anymore. They just protect the company now.

The "Personnel Department", persons, people.
"Human Resources", not people just another "resource".If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

HR told me they will look into his behaviour (which i doubt).
I handed in my notice on friday as i have got another job and my TL told me i have to work 3 weeks notice.
I was stock checking down a aisle and my manager came up to me and said you are running away like a coward ( i walked away from him) and he then said your not a real man just a coward (his exact words)0 -
When I was in primary school there was a rhyme.
Sticks & stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me.
Just smile sweetly and know that you've left them up the swanny just before Xmas. Make sure you mention the manager's childish behaviour in any exit interview.Originally Posted by shortcrust

Well what your manager said there is definitely a breach of company policy against bullying and harassment, as it was clearly intended to imitimidate you, which at most employers is gross misconduct . But proving he said it is a different matter am afraid.
In my experience when a bully like that calls you a coward, they only doing it due to their own insecurities and false sense of needing to impose his/herself on you or on others. When confronted they are usually the ones that turn tail and run like headless chickens.
Take heart in knowing that your not just more of a man than he is, but that your also the better person!0 -
when I was in my teens (in 6000 BC
)and working as a shelf stacker in this small cave shop
, I remember one supervisor being an absolute di*k and use to get the backs up of most people including me.
Having said that, I'm not sure how old you are but if anyone spoke like that tome today, they would only do it once.
It can be difficult in the workplace to stand up-to your superiors who behave badly because you are afraid of loosing your job, but there are times when you have to stand your ground no matter how scary it is.
Having said that, I think you have done the right thing and found another job. Life is too short to deal with di*ks like that.:jTo be Young AGAIN!!!!...what a wonderfull thought!!!!!:rolleyes:0 -
You've read the policy then?...Genuineguy03 wrote: »@OP
