Accident: Driving without due care advisory
Hi,
A few months back I was involved in a bike accident.
I recorded the whole accident on my HD helmet cam.
The outcome of the accident was a letter from the Police titled DRIVING WITHOUT DUE CARE AND ATTENTION yet in the body of the letter it states it is an advisory letter and they hope I am more careful in the future!
What does that actually mean? Is that a 50/50 or does this mean something else?
Any comments appreciated.

I suppose it depends whether the other driver was assessed the same too.0

It means that the Police have decided not to take any further action against you regarding the standard of your riding.
Has any insurance claim been settled?0 -
It means what it says. The police are not concerned with the apportionment of fault, that is up to the insurance companies. If I were you, I would not draw the letter to your insurer's attention.0

I assume this was a motorbike and not a push bike?0 -
Show us the video and let us be honest/brutal....0

Can you get done for that on a pushbike?
I'd bet OP was filtering, maybe a bit too quickly.
Not for driving without due care for obvious reasons
Cyclists can be done for careless / inconsiderate riding though

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

It was a motorbike.
I asked the Police did the other driver receive the same letter, they’ve yet to respond.
I won’t show the insurers the letter as it is misleading.0 -

The reference of the letter is ‘driving without due care and attention’ but it then goes on to say be careful next time.
So to me that suggests I was driving without due care but not bad enough for charge? So it’s either is or isn’t. If it isn’t, why put it there in the first place.0
