In my teens I was 5ft 4in now at 75 I am 4ft 11in.......... waiting to hear if the Dr is sending me for a BDS which may tell us a bit more. Its my spine that is causing concern, I had my hips xrayed last year for arthritis no comment made then about bone thining.0

A BDS (DXA) is different to a normal x-ray, I had a shed load of x-rays a couple of years ago, but unfortunately they did not/would not have picked up on my thinning bones either. I hope that you get more information on severity and advice on possible treatment very soon. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

Good evening, everybody  - you've all had so much to post that I'm afraid it's too hard to attempt to keep up today - sorry folks
.
TA - well done on your combined family effort on sorting out 'Winterising' your caravan. A difficult task, but you'll all be able to laugh about it this time next year! It's 50+yrs since we all used to go camping with mum and dad - but we still laugh about our annual attempts at erecting our two-bedroom frame tent with porch - and how dad had numbered the poles and joints ................ only to forget which way around they went :rotfl:.
maddiemay - enjoy your date-day in Tewkesbury. A place that I've never visited, but one that my dad loved to go to with mum.
Hope all the 'fur babies' are managing to remain calm and unflustered this evening - lots of fireworks going off outside here tonight - I think Liverpool is having their 'major event' tomorrow evening - there were lots of traffic diversion signs in the Albert Dock/Pier Head area today. It's always very spectacular with fireworks setting off from a 'barge' in the middle of The Mersey - big problem though is trying to leave the car park afterwards - why on earth don't more people just use the extra public transport that's always put on for the occasion.
My evening of baby-sitting DGS5 went quite well and got him into bed by 9.00 / asleep by 9.15 :j! I was out of bed at 6.30 this morning- but heard the pitter-patter 10mins later ...................... could have done with at least an hour without him, but there ya go - can't have everything in life!
Managed to have the two of us washed and 'reasonably presentable' by 9.30am and out of the flat, heading for the bus stop. As he's not used to travelling by bus, he shouted 'Hello' and 'Bye bye' to every bus on the journey into Liverpool - all the other passengers were having the giggles at him and saying how 'pleasant' he is
. Quite a walk from the bus station to the Exhibition Centre on Liverpool Waterfront and the wind was 'rather blustery' blowing in from The Mersey.
Lots of lovely 'freebies' and 'samples' to be had at the 'Free From Food Fair', but was unable to go and listen to any of the 'talks' or watch any of the demonstrations because of having Bobby in the pushchair - so I'm going back tomorrow to fit a few more things in :T. I think I'll take my own sandwich and salad with me this time - no point in paying out 'Exhibition-tortionate (;)) Prices'. Very little in the way of 'Gluten Free Sandwiches'and £2.60 for a bottle of 7Up is disgusting !
I left the slow cooker on all night to cook two ham shanks - then again all day to cook 'Ham Shank Scouse'. Same as 'regular Scouse' but using the meat from a Ham Shank instead of Shin Beef. Held back half of the Ham Stock for making Yellow Split Pea & Ham Soup on Monday (known in Liverpool as 'Pea Whack'!). We've had TWO bowls of the Shank Scouse for our meal this evening - the rest is cooling down and will go into the freezer for Winter Warmers.
I'm absolutely shattered, so it's an early night for me - straight after Midsomer Murders!
God Bless and Night, night - don't let the bed-bugs bite- luv Ollie xx
