Yeah! You reminded me about the one of the worse situations for phone battery life. Live in a poor signal area and leave the sim active!

Though flight mode turns off wifi too which may not be what is wanted. (and there is no reason to remove the sim to disable network use, just select the options (two as I recall as data and phone need turning off seperate))

Have to keep my other phone off for that reason (would disable sim otherwise). Main is only ok as I have a suresignal.

    Is Bluetooth on ?

Should not (except in some odd situations), make any noticable difference. (to a modern smartphone).

But this was supposed to be a monster battery

Not given the specs of the phone. If you want battery life go for a low res screen (ok so the screen is not that high, but it's not that low either).

CPU speed and ram won't be helping either. If you want a long battery life then get a CPU that is not as fast!

    Etc, Etc...

Though the most you can do is set the brightnedd lower (you did not say if medium manual or medium adaptive (adaptive is probably going to be higher usage). Though that said i use 100% manual brightness mostly as charging a bit in the middle of the day is not a pain!

Also try to NEVER let the battery go under 50% (waiting for empty ruins modern batterys).

I have a Moto G6 Play with a 4000Mah battery that usually lasts 3 days in between charges. I can't recall what the actual screen on time is but I'll let you know when I next have to charge the phone.

I've found with every new phone it has usually taken a few charges over the course of a week or so before I've got decent battery life expected.

Yep, I have a Xiaomi A2 Lite 4/32GB version that has the same size screen and res (give or take) and the same 4000mAh Li-Pro battery but the basemark according to gsmarena for the Mate 10 Pro is 2.5 times higher than mine.

My current battery stats are 4d 1h since last full charge, 7d 23h estimated remaining with a screen usage time of 1h 38m (I'm a very light user).

If you want the power then you pay the cost.

  • It's seeming a bit better now.

I left the house at 1045am on 100% and at 845pm it's on 34%. I've used GPS for about 2hours, plus a little bit on email, social media.

I'm a bit happier with the results as my old nexus6p with worn out battery would have died a while ago.
  • Been on 4g all day as out and about, though did have it off for couple hours in between trips

If you are using GPS without plugging the phone into the car, then it will eat power.
I never turn off 4G on either the Samsung S8+ or my Note 9 and I get a full day out of both. Fast charge it for an hour in the evening and good to go for next day. I don't have them on overnight.
Usage is probably considered moderate, no real gaming, plenty of surfing and use of Google assistant. Plenty of camera action.
If I'm in the car they are plugged in as I use Android auto and waze a lot of the time.
