Job issues - How can i move on?

Unfortunately as you say your conviction will never be spent - under the rehabilitation of offenders act, inprisonment of 48 months or means the conviction as I say will never be spent.
That’s not to say you won’t be successful it’s just going to be harder and take more effort.
If you are asked about unspent criminal convictions then legally you are required to declare however also if you are not asked you are not obliged to declare.
Try to avoid jobs that require a DBS check.
Make employers aware of how you have addressed the issues leading to the offending, also show you are prepared to move on, do a course, done training and organise voluntary work,
Nacro and unlock are full of info.
Seems everything stems to skilled/manual work in which im useless and dont enjoy doing. I was asked when offered the job hence why i declared and was then immediately rejected. Its a shame as id of enjoyed the job and done my best to prove i would of been good. Most driving jobs want a DBS check but i believe they should of looked into things a little more to understand the convicition, Giving me more of a chance so to speak.0 -
So if ive got X kids and i lose my job then i shouldnt have children?
get a grip you stuck up busy body. You had no reason to comment, We all hit walls in our lives who the hell are you to judge me and how i deal with my finances?
Go away
What job?
You’ve managed to have multiple children since leaving jail her you don’t seem to have managed to have multiple jobs...0 -
I appreciate all your replies to each comment, No i didnt declare anything to HMRC wasnt much to declare ( If i could run a legit business i actually would ) But i dont want handouts from the benefit system 1. thats too easy and 2. its alot of hassle applying for jobs i wouldnt actually like doing and want to do, Making my life miserable.
I am genuine and i am looking forward, The only way i would get a job doing what i know best is if i had a friend of a friend or someone who was involved with some big company who needs people such as myself, thats the foot in the door.
And therein lies the root of your problem. Sometimes, and this seems to be one of those times, you need to do things that if circumstances were different you wouldn't normally do. Its called being an adult.
Flipping burgers, fruit picking, street cleaners, etc all would put food on the table for the children you chose to have.Originally Posted by shortcrust

I do think OP, assuming this is all for real (you'd be amazed at the number of fictional posts here), that you need to get over yourself. You may not like some of the answers, but you are really not helping yourself. Yes, you made some bloody stupid choices. And you've made a few more since - like, exactly how are you going to explain to any potential employer that you've neither claimed benefits nor worked (your "self-employment" being in the black economy it would appear)? What on earth do you think they will make of that and on what you have lived?
But everything that has got you to this place is a result of your choices; and yes, you might not like it, but that includes having children to support. But you still have attitude. That whole thing early on about how it's "only white collar crime"? No, actually it's just crime. Being a slightly cleverer criminal doesn't make you better, and actually it could suggest the opposite! And there's that attitude again - "I'm no good at manual work and besides which I wouldn't like it". Boo hoo. Lots of people who have never done a thing wrong in their lives are "no good at manual work and don't like it", but they get on and do it because they have no other options. You are not better than them! Your choices have led you to this place. Suck it up and get on with it. You can't possibly claim to be too stupid to fill a shelf in a store, dig a hole, or flip a burger!
You think you're unique? You think you're special? You think that nobody here has ever met an ex-offender or worked with one or employ one? Sorry mate, that doesn't wash. I've worked in prisons. I've worked with ex-offenders whose crimes would make your " white collar" toes curl. We currently employ a number of ex-offenders. And my gardener is a murderer! Honest to God, that's true!
So stop whinging about how you support your children whilst having the kind of job that is suitable to your station. Think about the example you are setting to your children, which appears to consist of expecting everything to fall into your lap, never do anything if it doesn't meet your expectations, and live life in the edge because a bit of hard work is too much for you. Growing up with attitudes like that around them, you can expect them to follow in your footsteps, because if you've been in prison you must recognise the vast numbers of young adults in them who thought that a life of crime was an easy option and they were too clever to be caught, so they rejected the hard slog of an average life where you have to work hard, not expect instant gratification of your wants, and work your way up.0 -
Like i stated all vans are camera and tracked so i dont see this being an issue. And i hardly want to steal someones lamb or veg

its a groceries delivery job, the most expensive thing on there would be cigarettes/alcohol in which would be accounted for a number of times
TBF in your own words you told us yo only told them about your conviction and sentence when they said employment was dependent on a CRB check, its not exactly honest and upfront is it?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Harsh but the right words i suppose. And it isnt that i dont want to flip burgers, i could do that but i think i should use 1 of my skills ( Driving ) as a job thats all. I dont think im better than anyone else but id like to gain a job in which i actually enjoy doing at the same time. Isnt much to ask for now is it?0 -

With unspent convictions for fraud and barely any work history, it is a lot to ask for.0 -

Everyone would like a job they actually enjoy. You won't find many that are actually doing that. I don't think I've ever had a job I enjoy. That's the really real world for you.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
