Any success with CM services ltd £100 notice

Hi all,
Received a parking notice from C M services Ltd on the car windscreen and of course await some images and more on the £100 fine through the post in the near future (£60 within 2 weeks - like that is any better)
The parking was in a ‘private controlled residential area’ close to the university and student halls. There was no parking anywhere near the university and there was only a space in the residential area. Each of the homes in this area have residential parking outside of each home and have permits of some sort in the windscreen. The car was parked across the road in a small area for parking where it seems like 3-4 cars all got the fine. Funnily enough, further down the street cars parking on double yellow lines didn’t get anything? Anybody know why that is?
Im sure that any of us would much rather keep £60 than give it to these thieving sods and fuel this vile industry.
I have read through the newbie sticky as I have followed that for previous fines. However from a couple other threads on here, i understand that CM are not with POPLA and IPC instead, making it a bit of a tricky situation.
The obvious route would be to appeal, I have pictures of the sign and the vague penalty notice slapped on the windscreen. However, it seems like most appeals are rejected anyway. So is ignoring them really the only way?
There is a phone number on the notice for the driver to call up and discuss but I’d like to get some opinions first...

Outside of London it's cheaper to park on (local authority) double yellow lines than chancing any fly parking on a private estate. Although, you might also get a tow in some areas! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Edited the post. Thanks.
I avoid the double yellows unless I really need to park there. But yeah £35 if paid within 14 days is reasonable compared to £60... ludicrous0 -
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed in the house as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an
M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

That is a link for the photo of the sign
Surprise Surprise.... the wording for the terms and conditions of this 'contract' and the £100 penalty liability is all in the smallest writing.... they really need to take up all that space with the big bold lettering at the top? bunch of scam artists..
Also, i've read that unlike with other parking notices issued by those with POPLA, where if you appeal your fine is frozen and the 14 day window restarts.. with these guys there is no freezing, its 14 days or nothing. How insane.0 -
No-one on this forum has ever lost against, or paid any money to, that bunch. I'd call that success, of course no-one PAYS them money!Any success with CM services ltd £100 notice
Of course it's insane, the entire industry is built on a scam. Do not even THINK about ringing a scammer to 'discuss' the matter.
Who cares about the 14 days or the pseudo discount? This is all covered in the NEWBIES tread FAQS. We aim for 100% discount.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I recently received a NTK from the above company, it says £60 if paid within 14 days, but you have 21 days to appeal. In the newbie thread it says to appeal in 3 weeks for this IPC company, so if I only appeal after 3 weeks, the fine will be more than £60 by the time of the appeal? or is it ok to appeal also before the 14 days passed?0 -
Appeal after 2 weeks and stop even thinking about the discount bribe; no-one cares about that. An 'appeal' is all a pointless exercise with any IPC firm so don't expect it to *work* or stress about it.
It's just making a statement to them that you are on MSE and not a victim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why is it pointless, and why it won't work? will I need to pay this PCN or what?0
