Opodo doubled the flight prices overnight!

  • I very much hope that you got a cash refund and did not accept your money back in the form of vouchers. If so, good luck using those vouchers: I think the only way to do so (without paying a lot more cash as well) is to book well in advance, when you have seen the Opodo fare on a real booking site.

    Credit card refund....
;74995653]It defies belief now....

I spoke them yesterday and complained but reluctantly agreed to pay the revised price. At the time, I confirmed this was definitely the price and booking would go ahead.

This morning I've got ANOTHER email telling me the price has more than doubled again! Price is now almost 5x what I booked!

    You couldnt make it up!
So how much is the flight if you book direct with the airline(s) ?

There may be (increasingly rare) discounts to be had via Opodo etc but generally they're good for showing you potential flights/combinations and then allowing the savvy customer to book direct with said airline(s).

No they're not. They don't get a live price from the airline until after you've paid. The only way to get a true live price is book through the airline direct.

Some are, some aren't. It's working out which ones are which that's the difficult bit.
