Morning all! Yesterday was wuite tiring, went to the hospital, went toSainsbury, went work, went to B&Q, Home bargains, Iceland warehouse and Lidl. The last thrree are all in the same car park, and I just walked in and back out again of Lidl. I was a bit shattered when I got hom though, but stuff is stocked, and there are some cat toys present in the house now [no sign of him this morning though, it's hammering down.
Today is continue to paint the porch, I have come to an agreement over the colour of the door frame, and luckily for him, he agrees with me[paint chip samples from B&Q] Need to get a move on replacing the door, it's cold and any warmth in the house just flies out the empty doorway.
Feel quite chipper today, hoping the body notices that and plays along...
Coffee with a friend after her work, will ferret in freezer for something after. Fancy mash and something, maybe pork chops...
Glad to hear you're seeing the doc dumpling, my mother had type 2 so you do have to keep on top of any ailments..nmlc, enjoy your days off. Sperky, good to hear your gran is getting lots better. tru, they're annoying aren't they? while I sympathise because I know I wasn't exactly miss pefect at that age, it's still makes me want to punch them, good idea with the camera. TA, she's right, echoing nelski here, when you say you're still up and down, I think you can expect that for a while, tears are normal, so just carry on as you want to, things take time, it's a lovely idea for a rose though, or maybe a tree. Hang in there. HUH, I hope they give him some good appointments and he rallies a bit more. Red ruby, enjoy the baking. Nelski, sounds like you had a lot of fun, know what you mean about the visitors, let's hope they do enjoy the supermarket, I admit, II'm with them on that, it's probably the nly shop, bar a DUY shop that I can spend agaes wandering round...ENjoy the mushy peas!
Ollie, the stew sounds lovely, i too was laughing at the dog by the fire..Wee midgie, enjoy your swimming
Jackie, have a lovely day out today.
Hope Thursday brings you all what you need.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
TA I did wonder if you could get a rose called Bob? There are several 'named' roses, that might be acceptable.
The grass got laid yesterday, they are back this morning, just 2 rolls short, so George has just been round with it, guess Craig will follow shortly. I am so pleased with how it looks, taking out the two middle beds has created a green vista, it actually makes the garden look longer than it is. Its been an expensive job, but for me its well worth it.
A very grey morning, no shopping as I did it yesterday whilst in town for my X Ray. So I can spend the morning sewing. I have the dresden plate backed and bound, just have the binding to sew down on that and a small tree hanging. I have a smaller dresden cut out as well.......I want to make a couple of stockings, have some fabric with santa on, cannot find my pattern which is a bit of a blow.....hey ho.
Frittata for supper tonight, I have some bacon that needs using up.0 -
Tru, some people have no sense. We had no trick or treaters last night, there are very few children around here now, they've all grown up and gone.
Nelski, enjoy your last day with your guests, I'm the same, I love seeing people but am usually glad when they leave.
Olliebeak, mmm ham shank. I cook mine with dried peas and have a thick version of ham and pea soup, Nelski's visitors would approve.
NMLC, well done on the continued weight loss.
TA good luck with the hunt.
dumpling, good luck with the dr.
The visit to the consultant was ok - it was a locum rather than the chap we've been seeing. To our surprise he said that the treatment meeting they held with Addenbrookes had offered three choices. Watch and wait, chemo or chemo plus immunotherapy. Steve opted for watch and wait at the moment everything we have read says that this is the best option if you haven't got any 'B' symptoms which Steve hasn't. We were not expecting them to offer treatment options yet and I checked to make sure that the offer would remain on the table without them having to go back to the committee to discuss the case again.
Chris is still very down, he was worrying because he has a presentation to do this morning and he had a panic attack the last time he was presenting so that is preying on his mind. He's made full notes so that if he dries up he'll be able to get back on track. I told him that Winston Churchill always wrote out his speeches after drying up in a House of Commons speech early in his career.0 -
Morning. Thank you for all the welcome messages. Well we were very busy last night for Halloween we dressed the outside of the house and so did some off our neighbors and we had a great night and this year we collected for the local hospice and made 400. This was between the whole street some off the neighbors did tea coffee and cakes. So it was very good. So today we are cleaning up and taking down the last bits.0

Morning all.
TA you are bound to feel quite wobbly at times. I hope you find something suitable for the hospice garden, that is a lovely idea.
Tru, how annoying, people can be really thoughtless and nasty sometimes.
I am afraid that we no longer open the door on Halloween, we used to have a bowl of treats by the door but stopped when a group of teenagers came, were offered sweets which they took and then threw back at my OH because they had hoped for cash.
Taff, what a good idea, you could do the same with a little wedge of foam. Patent it quick!
Yesterday I went back to bed and slept for 4 hours. I was horrified when I got up again but must have needed it. Managed nearly 5 hours last night.
I have made a hat and long scarf for DS's GF and now am making some fairies because I feel like it then am going to knit some elves. Must do yet another bathroom blitz.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning everyone
Grey mizzly morning but its meant to brighten up later...hope so as I have bedding to go on the line.
I had a lovely weekend in London visiting my eldest DD....it was 10 weeks since I'd seen her as she moved there mid August. We talked and talked and walked and walked! I'd seen photos of course but it was so nice to see the flat where she lives with 3 other girls and the area she lives in. We walked to Greenwich on the Sunday as I'd never been and also went to a show on the Saturday night...Everybodys Talking about Jamie....it was brilliant. Also to V and a for a fashion exhibition she wanted to see and Museum of London for suffragette exhibition for me. Lots of lovely food and hot chocolate/coffee and cake stops.
I was very proud of myself as I managed to cross London by myself and change tube twice to get back to Kings Cross on Tuesday morning as DD was at work. It was quite funny as there was a big group of children aged about 7 or 8 obviously on a trip and using the tube is just a way of life for them....whereas I was very proud that I was managing it aged 51! I wouldn't like to use it every day...everyone rushes too much.
My train was an hour late home which made for a long day....but I never mind at least I can claim my fare back.
Pottering about this morning getting jobs done then down to my mam and dads later.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -

Morning all
The sun is shining again after last nights rain, which seemed to deter the "trick or treaters".
The DGC are due about 12 for our Halloween party and a sleepover. They are probably chomping at the bit already.
I have finished hiding the " ghosts " around the house for them to find and then they will get a go in the "lucky dip" box. ( which holds treats and tricks  naughty nan:laugh: ) Possibly a lot of squealing will ensue (and that's only me :rotfl:.)
Dad has also been invited for a party tea, although he wasn't feeling too good yesterday when we spoke. The sausages are cooked, the sausage rolls are ready for the oven and I will get DGD to make some monster rice krispie cakes this afternoon. There should be plenty of food to choose from and if we're lucky, some leftover for tomorrow :j.
I have put a load in the WM but it will dry inside again and I have changed our bedding. That will have to wait till tomorrow for it's wash.
TA we have a rose called " Remember Me " in honour of Mr Fix It's late DB. As others have said there are a lot of named roses to choose from if you decide on one of those. Take care of yourself my friend. xx
Bozwood how lovely that you all got together and collected money for the hospice :T
Nelski that's my kind of day... afternoon tea and fish and chips , although I would probably look like Violet Beauregarde at the end of it
Hester I hope CHS is well on the road to recovery. Sending healing vibes.
Poppy are you OK ? Sending you gentle hugs.
Snoozer hugs to you and Steve.
Holly lots of love coming your way xx Keep on going my friend :A
Hugs to all the poorly people, those having treatments and their carers.
Take care all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon all,
Welcome Bozwood, this is a lovely friendly place. With the odd nutcase thrown in for variety!
Hugs to every body in need or want of one.
My car is being repaired of the damage caused by an idiot who didn't properly engage the handbrake while parked on a small incline at the other side of the garden....... Can't remember who but its costing more than €1k......not back until Saturday so will be housebound until then.
DD1 on dinner duty tonight so it will be tasty, she is a very good cook.
Starting the antibiotic prescribed by the doctor, while I don't have a chest infection he reckons it's better to be sure than sorry in view of our travel plans.
Colder here the last few days, heat on for a couple of hours every day, with Ohs beloved fire on in the living room.
Take care everybody, stay warm and safe..... Thinking especially of TA, Holly, OL, Dumpling, Polly.

Good afternoon all, I'm late to the party.
It was pouring this morning but has turned into a reasonable day.
Sorry to hear CHS is still having problems Hester.
We went for our flu jabs this morning and I did a bit of shopping on the way home. Went into B&M, it was packed, tho it usually is. I buy biscuits and coffee there, and their toiletries are good value. Last year in there just before Christmas I bought a set of a Ba*bie type doll with 9 different dresses for £12.99 for Dgd, and she's still playing with them - the best 12.99 I've spent!! I didn't think they would last this long.
I've just blitzed the kitchen, it was disgraceful. Anyway, it looks a bit better now.
Hope everyone's had as good a day as they can.
Take care folks0
