Sold the wrong car

Did you actually ask the salesman if the car was 4WD?
Did you buy from a Vauxhall dealership?
Assuming you did not buy the car from a Vauxhall dealership, it's quite possible the salesman did not know the cars come as either 2WD or 4WD, and just assumed you knew what you were talking about.
This model is quite a rarity and not one that every car salesman will know about. It's not like virtually every driver knows BMW are rear wheel drive."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

As per what others have said - you werent sold the wrong vehicle, you bought the wrong vehicle.
It says in the advert its 2WD and you've nothing in writing from the dealership to support them saying it was 4WD.
I dont think you did your due diligence before purchase therefore you bought the wrong car.
The dealership are within their rights to refuse a refund - not their fault.

Three weeks ago, I bought a used Vauxhall Antara from a Vauxhall main dealer.

"I'm known as a grammar nazi myself!"
And missed the use of criteria when it should be criterion. Many people make that error.:)0 -
As far as I remember, it's a haldex 4x4 with no user controls - it'll kick in when required but you'd have no way of determining from the cabin that (a) it's there and (b) it works. If 4x4 is vital to your business then you should have done some due dilligence, even as simple as looking underneath for a diff or looking at the emissions on the V5 or if there's any mention in the handbook - it'll need towed differently, for instance.
As it is, you're probably looking at making do with 2WD or trading it in for a 4WD and taking the loss.0 -
You bought the wrong car. You should have researched the vehicle in more detail yourself.
You cant blame the salesman for being a salesman.
