Hello all, family member visiting got a parking charge by UKCPM limited and today they have received a letter from Gladstone’s solicitors. Up to this point they have been completely ignored.
I have the letter here on hand mentioning “if you believe you have a valid reason for non-payment, you are able to reply pursuant to paragraph 4 of the pre-action protocol for debt claims” bla bla.
Any advice on how to deal with this?

Just noticed it’s called a Letter before claim.
I’ll be writing out an email asking for all such evidences etc I’m entitled too tonight if no one else has any helpful tips before then.0 -
Advice is not to use a template, and just send a SAR to UKCPM for all evidence/photos they rely on and all data held (attach a copy of the PCN and/or V5C to show the identity of you as the data subject relating to that car).
And reply to Gladstones attaching a copy of the SAR and demanding that they temporarily cease processing the registered keeper's data whilst the SAR is dealt with, replied to and then considered.
If this is a residential PCN, the resident needs to dig out their tenancy agreement or lease and look for the sentences that grant rights to park, rights of way, easements or allocate a bay, etc.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I’m Sorry but could you elaborate the SAR?
Further more we are no longer tenants of this property and the driver/owner wasn’t a tennant.
I had a fine from these guys moons ago and got off with the POPLA pre estimate of loss arguement.0 -

It was council housing but I’ll get onto it and see what I can dig up. Shall I send the above mentioned template to ukcpm and the solicitors in the meantime?0

I think that's too generic; you don't want to know if they hold data about you and who they shared it with.
In a parking case we suggest you ask for what you really want to see:
- all photos
- copies of all letters, the PCN and all
- all evidence & data held
- all cases status updates and pages, showing whether the updates were automatic or by human interventionPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

For the attention of UKCPM regarding ticket no; xxxxxxx
I have received a letter before claim from a solicitor acting on your behalf. In order for me to understand this situation better I’d request you present to me the filling details,
All photos and evidences to support your claim of a charge against myself, including a copy of the PCN in question, copies of any / all letters sent, all data and evidence held and allcase status updates and pages that show whether these updates where automated or controlled by a Human.
Please be prompt.
Will this suffice?0 -
Can’t edit the previous post to add this question but once I’ve sent that to ukcpm I contact the solicitor to ask him the hold proceedings untill I hear back from ukcpm?0
