    Morning all

Its been raining here during the night but its brightened up now, I have stripped the beds so might get it out on the line for a blow.

Got some washing on the airer which can be finished off in the dryer for 10 mins.

I felt really rough yesterday and took to my bed for the afternoon, slept for three hours, got up for dinner and then slept all night I do feel slightly better today but still snotty and coughing :o

I fancy a jacket spud for dinner with ham cheese etc and some salad so that's nice and easy.

Right better get on have good days all xx
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Very sad news about Leicester City FC, their owners helicopter crashed on take off yesterday in the car park at the side of the King Power stadium club ground. We do not know who was on board, but who ever was could not possibly have survived. The helicopter was destroyed and several cars were also damaged.

No news is good news, but I very much fear there will not be any good news.

A bright but very cold morning. I have just enough coal for today and tomorrow......will light the fire later this afternoon, the sun is warming the sitting room nicely.

More sewing today after I have prepped the veg for supper, roast chicken........

We had a wild and windy night here . Everything I can see is still standing, but I will have to check the side fence when I get dressed. It's ready to come down and be replaced anyway, so if it's down that saves us a job :rotfl:. Although the sun is out there is still a very biting wind, so I don't know if Dad will turn up today for his lunch. He'll be disappointed as it's steak pie........ guess who forgot to take any meat out of the freezer . We'll still have roasties, broccoli, gravy etc with it though.

Mr Fix It is xboxing with DGS again, but DGS has to go to play in a football match soon. He'll be blummin frozen along with his team mates, they will be stood like this :grouphug:. Mr Fix It won't have anyone to play with then ....... awwwwww, he needn't look at me as I shall be busy cooking :D
Nothing much else going on today, but I suppose I should get dressed and prep the veg. I may send Mr Fix it to check the fence, that'll give him something to do. Must keep him occupied and out of mischief :D.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Healing vibes to all the poorlies especially -taff, Poppy and Holly.

Lots of love to TA and fingers crossed for your DD Dumpling
Many hugs for everyone who wants or needs one. Take care all.

    Good morning,

Just a quick one from me as the HT and I are going out to see Bohemian Rhapsody soon. One of us is significantly more excited than the other about this outing :D

Lots of hugs TA. What helped me a little when I was where you are now was planning things. The plans you thought that you had for the future have all been ripped away and it's such a big gaping hole in your life. I booked a holiday with my sister and aunty. It was horrible going without the HT's dad but it gave me something to focus on.

Take care all of you :)

Watched some Marvel films yesterday, thought a bit more about Porch Gate, now there will be some metal involved [ we stack wood in it for the winter and it can scrape the paint of the frame], and found a new potential toy to make the painting easier...Am weighing up the pros and cons of purchase. On the one hand, more prep, on the other, no brush marks or having to concentrate deeply to avoid painting windows and woodwork. And it can be used again and again, and since everywhere needs painting eventually [ we are living in a bombsite of house, all walls stripped, all paint stripped etc] it'll be handy. I've just wrote myself into it haven't I? :)
Chinese was lovely, and we played a music quiz between the four of us in teams, we won three times, go us, and came home with a cappucino swiss roll...Haven't eaten any yet...
Today, not much planned, am being good and not doing stuff, but to be honest, I feel a bit drained, so possibly getting some Lidl chicken for fajitas is as far as I'm going today. I need a magic wand or a special tidyying pointy finger....Will wash and change sheets though, I need to fill up a whites wash.

Jackie, I like Lucozade so I may ask OH to get someo n his way home later on, chocolate I'm not so fussed about, I'd rather have cheese. Losing weight is not happening for me, it's the opposite, because I can't tase stuff, I keep trying to find stuff I can. WW a go go in December :) Ollie, no, I did give it a god once, but I'm normally really clumsy, I think I ended up with the cord stuff wrapped around one leg and bashed the other one on the metal...I'll stick to electric ones, I haven't sewn any of my fingers for a while, so it's safer :) glad you had a good day out yesterday.

OL, oh dear...yep, stay in bed, best place to be.. although, what caterpillars? :) ...Dumpling, just sent OH to get my winter stuff out, it's bloody freezing here [ probably not as cold as Scotland or up north for example though] Ive gone all feeble and am feeling the cold. And again, ye, no drama is the way to go. I don't understand why people live that like, life isn't all about being an epsiode of Eastenders...enjoy your nap. Fingers crossed for phoebe. AOD, my mehtod of cleaning them involves letting the dust fall on the floor under them and then hoovering that :) Happy knitting tru, I got a friend a crochet blanket kit the year before last for christmas, she finally finished it last christmas it's that big,,,hope your hands and wrists are up to the task :) Soozer, it was probably the illness affecting the cooking, take care of yourself. Good luck with your mum SO. Poppy, good to hear from you, sorry about the infection..Gers, hope your mum is better today, fab sunset too. They can be annoying like that, I kow my mother was sometimes, ut she did put on her nicest personality for the nursing staff/doctors etc when she wanted to so they thought she was lovely. And to be fair, most of the time, she was, it was just the constant slog of being in pain, the physical effects of her ilness and feeling like !!!! that made her grumpy...RR, get some hot toddys down your neck, hope you feel better too, did your car get done yet? Deleted_User, enjoy your sewing and fire, sounds cosy and lovely. Nanny, hae a lovely day, is your tooth sorted yet? Hope Sperky had fun and Nelski...

Happy harbeinger of a new week ahead.

Update to say that the baking benefited from leaving overnight, the brownies in particular are delicious. I also made a very good butternut squash and apricot soup for lunch.
  • Scarletribbons, thank you for your suggest. Taff, I tried that but the fluffy things continue to lurk. Anyway I'm not doing it today, it is Sunday and I am having a day off until dinner-cooking time. I'm cooking roast pork and all that jazz.

Got a splinter in my thumb last night, de-crumbing the table, I have just managed to get the last bit out.m 0why does a tiny, tiny splinter sting so disproportionately.

Organza you are in the best place, what is this caterpillar thing? Is she an entomologist or whatever it is? Or are they unusual pets?
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

TA I'm glad Bob got such a lovely send-off. If my friend's experience is anything to go by, it's the adjusting to your new “normality” that's going to be the challenge now. Take care, hun; thinking of you. x

Tru Scampi's “pyjama day” reminds me of a little Yorkie, Dave, who stayed with me. He got all excited about going for a walk, we got outside and it was raining, so he first looked at me as if I was out of my mind, walked across the carport (in the dry!), pee'd against the far wall, and stomped, in as much as a Yorkie can stomp, back to the front door. No way was he going out in the rain! :D

    Afternoon all.

That beautiful sunset I showed you yesterday has come through with a fabulous day - bitter freezing but so much bright sun and blue skies. I'm locked into my online marking...I've tried to distract myself from doing it but time pressures are making me do it. It's another item on the 'decision' list I'm making about working next year or not, and definitely on the 'pros' side.

My DM has always been difficult and demanding, now it's just that I react and have stopped being compliant. I will drive the route I want rather than respond to her saying 'why are you going this way?' etc. Perhaps I'm just tired but I spent all day Friday ferrying her to various appointments and getting stuff for her and she won't follow the docs advice, take her new meds, drink more water, take the old meds etc and then moans about still not being well. She doesn't like the diagnoses of dehydration, clear chest and lungs etc and wants medical intervention at the hospital. All the tests have been done before - tubes up, tubes down, scans, blood tests and xrays. She's simply ageing.

I've lit the woodburner and it's glowing away nicely. I've done a little browsing and will now go back to finish off the final four assessments. :(

Happy rest of Sunday to all.

I struggle with drinking enough too. I just don't get thirsty, I never have. I can drink more using a couple of straws. I don't get so bloated.

Gers many hugs, we ought to get your Mother to meet Nelskis Mother. I'm sure they would both have something to moan about then.

My DM is not usually as difficult as she was this weekend, mostly it's bearable or ignorable (is that a word???). She has never been much of a fluid-intaker - think 'drinker' sounds too close to drinking booze - so it' a struggle to make her drink. She's now got fizzy water and Elderflower Presse which is more palatable than plain water.

My marking is done!:j Wine is open... sorry, I know the sun is not down over the yardarm here, but it must be somewhere.:rotfl: I shall toast absent friends. :T
