Parking Charge paid but notice issued

Hi Guys,
Have looked through various threads but cannot seem to find anything comparable. Apologies if previous thread(s) do exist...
I parked at Bristol community hospital for a surgical procedure. On returning to my car, I entered my registration number and paid, by card, the amount requested by the machine (£1.50).
I subsequently received a notice from Parking Eye saying that insufficient time was paid for.
I don't dispute the arrival or departure time, I simply paid what the machine asked for.
I appealed, and of course, was unsuccessful.
I've since googled parking charges at the hospital car park, and for up to two hours the charge is £2.50, however, although I was there just under the two hours, the machine only asked for £1.50.
I wasn't at the top of my game due to the nature of the procedure (I had a camera inserted into my backside!!!) but still think I did everything I was required to do..
I've contacted the hospital who decline to discuss it and have directed me to Parking Eye.
There seems to be no mechanism to discuss this with Parking Eye, so I'm wondering what my course of action should be next?
Any help or advice would be appreciated..

You need to document the procedure there step by step. You paid on leaving, so do you just select a time and pay that, or do you insert a ticket and then pay what the machine says, get your ticket validated and then insert it into a barrier to leave?
So, spell it out for us for a targetted reply.0 -
Hi and welcome.
Have you appealed at all to PE?
If not, you need to read post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread where you will find a blue text template appeal already written for you.
Send that appeal without change - no alterations or additions necessary.
Send it as the keeper.
Perhaps you also need to speak again to the hospital - PALS.

Hi.
On entry registration number is picked up by ANPR camera.
You don't need to do anything at the machine at this stage..
When you return, you enter your registration number into the machine, and the machine then tells you how much to pay. After you've paid the machine dispatches two tickets, both shown as a receipt. One is a general receipt (In my case, for £1.50), and the other is a switch card receipt. You are free to leave. There is no barrier.
Both receipts show the departure time.0 -
Thanks, Yes I appealed to Parking Eye pointing out I did exactly what the machine told me to do, and paid the amount it requested.
I received their usual curt notice that I was Unsuccessful.0 -

So how could the system calculate an amount from an incorrectly entered registration??
You have to be on a winner with that argument when you have proof of paying on your card,0 -
looking at the charges on the hospital website, it would appear i should have paid £2.50, but the machine didn't ask for that, it asked for £1.50 which I paid and have receipts for....
I will go back to the hospital on Monday and rattle their cage again I think.
Initially, they said they didn't deal with Parking charge enquiries and referred me back to Parking Eye.0 -
remind them of those NHS guidelines and talk about frustration of contract
also mention you will be willing to take them to court if it gets that far and they will need to nominate one of their staff as a hostile witness to explain their ticketing system that has clearly failed in this case (faulty machine ?)
they can also explain this failed scenario to the judge0 -
Thanks!! I most certainly will!!!0
