RyanAir - won't let me purchase a single cabin bag? Must buy 4?

We are travelling via RyanAir next week (some might say that's our first mistake) - we didn't have much choice.
There's 4 of us, on a group booking. Ryan's new policy will be in effect - i.e. handbags only, no wheely bags allowed without paying. One of us wants to buy an extra bag allowance, which Ryan advertises as being £8. Ok no problem.
Looking at the website, not so. Ryan Air seems to only allow buying for the group as a whole i.e. we have to fork out £32 for 4x 10kg cabin bags, or £40 for 4x 10kg checkin bags.
This can't be right? How do I go about adding a single bag?

UPDATE
I contacted RyanAir to complain. They said that the website only allows adding bags for the whole group. To add individual bags, you have to ring them or contact them via live chat.
At least it's possible but I still think it's a bit of a shabby deal.
Booking management page didn't say how big the purchased 10kg bags can be - cheeky! - so I asked. The bloke said any purchased 10KG bags (cabin or check-in) have to be 42x20x30cm, which I realised after hanging up is tiny - maybe he made a mistake.
EDIT - he doesn't know sod all. Another part of the website says purchased 10KG bags can be 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.
