I thought similar to tempus above. It's sounds more like you've managed to switch the input source on the tv to free view stations which haven't been set up.

See if you can find the source button on the tv remote (usually a square with a little arrow on it) and see if you can scroll through eg HDMI1, AV, etc until you come to the sky picture.
  • I know the square with the arrow, but couldn't see where it said Sky. Didn't see any pictures.
This is what comes up =
    AV1 SAT
    AV2
    AV3 WII
    HDMI1
    HDMI2
    HDMI3
    COMP
    PC

Its a Sky+HD box but I'm very wary about doing stuff like that as its not my box or tv, don't want to lose anything they have. They are not back for another week yet and I was hoping to get it sorted before they come back so I can be watching, but something like that I think I need to wait for them to do.
    Thank you though.

Thanks, That gets rid of the programme not stored message and puts the square with arrow and whatever it is above it, but then what do I need to press please?

If the sky box is switched on and not displaying on which ever one you selected, try others starting with the HDMI ones.

Have tried it on all of them, when I press the SKY button, the SKY box flashes a red light next to the green power light that is on. I've tried tv menu on all of them but nothing comes up.
On my friend's Sky system, when the square with the arrow comes up, she told me it should have a 6 at the side of it, I don't know if this is the same.
When I press HDMI2, VGA comes up.
There is a button for digital and one for analogue on the remote. pressing the digital one brings ip the Programmes not Stored message again

My sky mains plug is round-ish with a moulded sky logo so might be easy to spot.
