Sky - programmes are not stored

Options
Hello, I am staying at someones house. I was in the middle of watching a stored catchup programme when I had to stop it for about 10 mins. When I came to switch it back on again, it came up with the notice on the left hand side of the screen - Programmes not stored - and on the right hand side 000 and digital underneath.
The remote isn't working on it now.

I've switched it off at the set but when I switch it back on again the message just comes back.
Any idea how to get the tv working again please?

  • Turn it off at the wall (or unplug) for 5 minutes and then let it reboot.
  • Is that the sky box that should be turned off? It won't mean I'll lose wife when I switch it on again will it? I haven't a clue about Sky, I don't have it at home

Having problems tracing the wire back to the plug. There is a mass of wires behind the TV where the plugs are. With it not being my house, I haven't a clue what they all are. Lol, could be here all day!!

Turn off the Sky box at the wall
Hold down the Backup button (on the front panel not the remote)
    Turn on the Sky box
Hold the backup button down for 30 seconds
All the lights on the sky box will come on, release the backup button
  • On my Sky Box I can pull the mains cable out from the back of the box. Check if you can do this instead.

I tried that a couple of times but it hasn't worked, even after holding the backup button (on the box) for several minutes. No lights came on. It was on as I could hear it buzzing but didn't seem to be doing anything. Wifi is working. I tried it with the tv on and with it off.
  • Is this actually a Sky problem? I have a feeling it might be the TV something to do with storing the digital (ie Freeview) channels.

  • I have no idea. I don't have a tv at home. I am staying at someone's house while they are away.
