I took a mobile phone in to CEX to sell and they needed to carry out checks on it. They informed me the next day the battery had failed. When I went to collect. The front screen had been bowed and the battery was twice the size. The store said it had not damaged the phone which I disputed. Was told I had to go online and report it via their website. As they are not contactable via phone I did this and received a reply saying it had been damaged instore. I asked what I needed to do . Their reply was the original reply was a typo error and the store had not damaged it. I explained I was not happy as they had damaged it. I returned to store and even they had to send a email. They have no contact numbers for head office. I waited instore for their reply but nothing arrived. And now the head office is ignoring me. And not replying to my emails. Where do I go from here HELP

Small Claims court if you can prove it, that will be the difficult part unless you pics/vids of the phone prior to handing over0

Cex not having a phone number for anything is a joke, i suggest you report your issue to Tony Hetherington from This Is Money, he has approached Cex on behalf of complainants and got results, check out 1 example below, makes an interesting read.

I've had batteries bulge on a few products. How do you propose to prove that CEX caused it, rather than it just happened whilst they had it? How WOULD they cause it?0
