Sounds like a good day. 😀

I've never bothered with the cash back websites, have you always got the money back eventually from them or are they very hit & miss?
I've probably got the cashback 99% of the time. I've done quite well from it over the years. I'd definitely recommend giving them ago. You've nothing to lose really. Especially when it comes to bigger purchases.
I've finished work for the week (short week this week), so plan on relaxing a little now. I genuinely feel exhausted. I'll do my first of the month post tomorrow if I get the change.

I'll have to have a look on the cash back websites and see what offers they've got when I next buy something online. 🙂

Enjoy your weekend. Are you a key worker?

Yes I am a key worker - fortunately not front line though so I'm able to work from home. I'm obviously feeling very lucky to have a job and for my finances to not be affected. BUT at the same time, I'm very jealous of my furloughed friends (all of whom are very chuffed about it) who keep telling me about all the fun they are having with their kids, whilst I'm telling mine to wait constantly. My Mum guilt is in overdrive, but I know things could be a lot worse and we are all happy, healthy and safe. So need to give my head a wobble and look at the bigger picture.

It's all very strange at the moment with work in all sectors. Everyone I know seems to either be a key worker juggling all that entails and probably doing more work for the same money, a furloughed employee which doesn't sound so bad getting 80% of full wage for being at home or someone that falls between the cracks. My business has basically become non-existent overnight (Chartered Surveying Practice in Residential sector) and the property market has in effect been suspended. Trying to look on the bright side, it gives me some time off. 🙂

🙁 Re not being able to get onto the mortgage spreadsheet but great reduction and nice to have cleared a loan, well done. 🍾🥂

Ahhh wow, that's a tough position you are in. I guess you didn't have any warning really about how it would affect your business. Do you qualify for the self employed help from the government? I've a few friends in the same position as yourself. Half seem to qualify for help and the other half fall through the cracks. :disappointed:  I can't even imagine how stressful that might be. I know I'm having a moan about the Mum guilt, but I do appreciate that I'm in a very lucky position.

Twinklie, I am a Director of a Ltd Company, so seems I am able to furlough my £8,300 salary but no dividends. 😂 We do fortunately have some surplus in the business account so hopefully it won't go on for too long.

I'm not a parent myself but think it must be hard to juggle it all especially when the kids are off school.

So this morning I decided to do some baking to use the banana's that were going black. I made banana muffins and a banana, raisin and walnut cake (loaf). We only have 5 muffins and half a loaf left, so that went down well then. :smirk:

Feeling more ready to crack on with some chores and I believe the weather is meant to improve this weekend, so I'm planning to plant out my potatoes that have been chitting the last month. I might sort out the raised bed so it's marked out and recover. Then it's just lots and lots of family time.

Oh and following planting out all the seeds this weekend, I woke up to see 11 baby lettuces on the rise. So I'm pretty happy with that. I always feel better when the tomatoes pop up though, so I'm still on pins until they pop up (we eat loads of tomatoes). Which reminds me. The greenhouse, I must finish cleaning down the greenhouse and reorganise the shed and the boys outside stuff, so we can make better use of it in the coming weeks.
