Be Aware!!
You used to be able to park freely on the private car park belonging to Duncan James Menswear, 12 Mountrath St, Walsall, WS1 3LY. Not anymore!

Today, 25/10/2018, I received a Parking Charge Notice (see link)
https://postimg.cc/jCwdL1Zj

I was in a hire vehicle, and the company I was using to hire the vehicle has given up my name.
I have just spoken to someone at the shop and asked about this ticket. She said the signs have been up about 2-3 months and there are x2 signs saying for private use (even after working hours I may not park there).
I will have to take a look at these signs!

On the face of it, can I defend myself? I am very angry about this. It seems like everyone is trying to hand out parking charge notices and it is very costly in terms of time and energy to go through this argument again.

I have asked the lady at the shop to speak to the owner, since we are both members of a business group, maybe somehow they can let me off the hook this one time??

What do you all think?
Best Wishes for your consideration ...

Can't see that image but you needed to read the sticky thread first. The one saying NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST.

ALL hire cases are winnable as long as no idiot blabs about who was driving.

Look at the Hire/company cars section of the NEWBIES thread; easy.

    Link works for me.

PCN Admin Centre on behalf of Elite Management (Midlands) - BPA Operator. Non-compliant PoFA Notice to Hirer/Keeper.

There's no way this shower will have all their 'hirer' ducks in a row. Very winnable at POPLA.

  • "You used to be able to park freely on the private car park"

2 words that are not normally associated , do you mean "You used to be able to park freely on the public car park

"I have asked the lady at the shop to speak to the owner, since we are both members of a business group,"

yup , left pant leg rolled up to the knee , and ask for a parking permit , or to be put on a white list

do you not think that the owner HAD to bring in a parking Co , because of strangers , ie, not shop users parking up "freely" and maybe stopping genuine customers to park
  • I would completely understand the need for parking controls during the normal shop working hours. However, that said, it was after 8pm and I used the space for less than 1.5 hrs.
  • Thanks for the template link.

How do I find out more information about your point?

until they get a delivery at 9pm or even 7am , they want the car park empty for a reason

  • Thanks everyone
I'll read the newbies thread and put something together for you all to comment upon.
In the meantime I hope the shop owner can take some pity on me. Let's hope so as we are in the same business club 'Best of Walsall'. Businesses should support each other.
I'll let you know what happens things unfold...
  • yes , your best bet is to gert the owner to get it cancelled , ask him if he has set up a "white list" of VRNs

you may not know this , but lots of parking Cos do "self ticketing" as in a member of staff issues ticket and sends pic to parking Co
  • perhaps you know David Cox ,Gary Hart and Victoria Hart ot Harmony House 34 High Street, Aldridge, Walsall WS9 8LZ

    latest updates say Lorraine BURGESS

are they are in your business club , I would have them removed ASAP , they are the owners of the parking Co
