Thomas Cook seat change

Hi All,

I wondered if anyone can help.
I am getting married in the Dominican Republic and booked all inclusive with Thomas Cook for 25 people to come with us.

We have had lots of trouble with them not having pemium seats on the way back on the plane, not changing peoples names on the booking, wedding specialists being useless. So we had 10 of our booking allocated in extra leg room seats, the only 10 they had left by the time they stopped messing us around.

We received an email 7 days prior to flying (last monday) with an updated seat allocation with which they had taken all of our extra leg room seats off us apart from 2. They didn't notify the travel agents.

So we are fuming as you can imagine, one of our party is disabled and they have put him in a regular seat which isn't fit for him.

They state their is nothing they can do as they have given our seats to someone else.

The holiday cost £46k and they just don't care, the travel agent shop have been brilliant but still can't help us.

I don't want my wedding to be ruined.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Were they "paid for" extra legroom seats or "requested" ? If only requested then TBH you had no chance of getting them as there are always people (like myself at 6'4'') who will pay for them.

Yes there are 25 of you but you have not hired the aircraft, there are the other 200 people on it as well who also require comfort and have paid just as much as you for the flight.

And there is no reason for it to be. You are getting married in a great place with loads of your friends and family around you. This shouldn't be affected by your seating allocations on the flight out. Yes, the enjoyment and comfort on the flight may be affected, but the flight is not the reason you are all travelling - it's the wedding!

Did you notify Thomas Cook of this passenger's specific needs at the time of booking? If so, and a particular seat type is needed then raise this with them. If you get no joy before travel then raise it again at check-in, at the gate, and on board. Things can be changed at the last minute.

In terms of everyone else, another poster is correct, seating is never guaranteed and all airlines will cover this in their T&Cs. If you paid for the extra legroom seating then you are of course due the money back and chase Thomas Cook for this.

Unless you're getting married on the plane, it won't be.

    TBH.
Why anyone can stick up for them? " its in the T + Cs blah blah"
    Complete rubbish

Thomas Cook know this is a wedding. They Know it is someones special occasion.
If they cant handle special occasions, maybe they should just stop doing weddings and stick to bucket and spade holidays
