my son wants one for christmas and h hasnt decided which one he likes

W580i white/orange i hve looked at reviews and some are saying the buttons crack

W850i in white this looks a good phone

which is the best phone it is for a 15 year old so needs to be sturdy usual features bluetooth camera expandable memory walkman

I think they have both got these features just wondered if anybody can give me an opinion about either or both phones

Also i was going to buy from play.com and there is a voucher floating about is this a good idea to buy a phone online just in case we have problems with it

the buttons cracking were only in the early batches of the s500i/w580i.

personally i would go for the w850i as it has a camera flash and 3g

just bought a w800i for middle daughter..... camera, walkman, bluetooth.....

also price has just dropped as the next model has been released

paid £69.99 (inc £10 credit on 3g sim card) at O2 shop - then contacted O2 them to change sim over to the one that gives the 300 free texts if you put £10 on every month

is this right that all o2 phones come unlocked so you could put another network in it as we want him to keep to vodafone as we do the family service where we can ring each other for free

also do you think its a good idea buying phones on line or should i buy from the high street he does look after them but if its faulty its a lot of hassle

argos i think does an extra cover on things do you think its a good idea or waste of money

all o2 payg phones ARE locked, but the contract ones are not locked.

on the other hand, CPW sell simfree unlocked w810i's

currys are selling the ericsson w850i with a 1gig mem included for 89.99 and you get 10 quid airtime with it as well .

Sony W850i @ Curry's

Go to CPW with a print out of the Curry's offer, they should match the price under their 'Price promise' or whatever it's called.

That way you should receive an unlocked phone.
