    I hate coloured ones with a passion.
    I hate flashing ones, I don’t really even much like twinkling ones.
    But some big houses with plain white lights, do look really nice.
    There is one not too far from me, about a mile outside the village and every year just plain lights, white ones - the yellow toned white.
    It looks lovely.
    It reminds me of the big light up house I’m home alone :-)

    I think lights in trees can look nice especially if it's the right type of tree, large evergreens work well. Lights on houses are okay as long as they're just lights (ie no santas, reindeers or snow men) and aren't over done.
