Professionally installed Festive lights over house and front garden

In our household Mrs has suddenly made a demand that she wants to get decorative lighting professionally installed which shows the outline of the house + some lights over the shrubs on the front garden before Christmas.

I haven't got the first clue who I contact (local electrician, some specialist installers or companies??) and what approximately it might cost (though I have a sinking feeling that this isn't going to be cheap)

If anyone has done something could you point me in the right direction. If location makes a difference I'm based in Surrey and have a larger than average detached house.

I know. But if history is any guide I don't fancy my chances of succeeding once she has set her heart on something :D

They're nice to look at ... but they're chavtastic to actually install yourself!

What IS she thinking? You need to ban her from seeing her friends and looking on Facebook.

Remember what goes up must come down... unless you have lights which blend in on the house and can be left up all year. So factor in paying for some expensive labour on two occasions.

I suggest a quick trip first to your local DIY store for a ladder/screwdriver/ect then on to local supermarket for a few cans of whatever you enjoy.
A relaxing chair in the living room then after she has put up said lights you can stroll out to admire her handy work.

LOL. I installed a set for a woman a couple of years ago. She wasn't so impressed when she got the bill and her husband wanted to know why the price was what it was. It never seemed to dawn on them that an Electrician's rates are what they are - irrespective of it being to erect ugly lighting.

Ask her what the max she is prepared to give up from her spending budget hair clothes etc.

Or just give her £500 and tell her to find someone to do it.(topping up from her own money)

Tell her it will need scaffolding for working at hight that will be up for at least a week.

Led lighting can be made almost invisible when not on so you may get away with leaving it up for that you want quality(not cheap).

How much are you going to need 100m 200m?

Have a collection to help pay for it: I am sure your neighbours would be happy to contribute....

... very occasionally if done well, most of the time they look awful.

It sounds to me like you want to contact a law firm that specialises in divorce.
