EE/google play fraud - not enough info to know which ombudsman

  • Your main consideration is your external credit file. I had a small problem about three years ago when Orange had agreed to remove a small adverse mark on my credit files (which stands for another 6 years) due to their error. A year later I discovered they hadn't removed/corrected the entry, so I made a formal complaint to EE. They ignored it (as they did with a separate complaint) so I went to the Ombudsman after 8 weeks and EE immediately capitulated, paid me a fair amount of compensation and dealt with the credit file entry.

Assuming it is EE who has employed the debt collector and that they have agreed the whole thing was not justified (as they've refunded you) it is essential that you 1) insist they correct your credit files and 2) make sure they have afterwards by checking them yourself.

Thank you for updating us, you've had an appalling time.

I can understand if you just want to move on from this, (after sorting out your credit file, as above), but hopefully you can find time to write this all down and send to your MP - something needs to be done about this 'industry', and Ofcom isn't fit to do it.
